Disney Springs has enhancements for different occasions throughout the year. For Black History Month the “Celebrate Soulfully” enhancements have arrived. Chrissy on our team visited to snap some photos and get a sense of the celebration, and I have to say I cannot wait to visit Disney Springs for this event.
Disney described the event as “Coinciding with the start of Black History month, ‘Celebrate Soulfully at Disney Springs’ honors Black culture and puts the spotlight on some of the Black and African-American talent at Disney Springs, while also introducing some exciting new offerings. With jazz-inspired entertainment, new art displays, special offerings, and more, there’s something for everyone to enjoy!”
If you love art or jazz music you will be especially pleased with the offerings. There are incredible art displays throughout Disney Springs. It is reminiscent of EPCOT’s Festival of the Arts, but with a focus on Black artists. There’s also lots of inspiration from the movie Soul. That’s one of the reasons for the jazz music themes throughout the event.
At Art of Disney at Disney Springs Marketplace as well as the Wonderground Gallery you can browse impressive Disney works of art by Black artists. I always love browsing art available at Disney’s galleries, but it is great to see the emphasis on Black artists this month.
Chrissy didn’t get a chance to catch some of the musical enhancements as part of the Celebration Soulfully event, but I am making plans now to do so. There’s Motown Mondays, Jazz Thursdays and Smooth Sunday. Three evenings a week, notable artists perform on stages throughout Disney Springs, among them Motown in Motion, Tonya Staples Duo, and Joseph Jevanni.

One sweet way to experience Celebrate Soulfully is with the special petit cakes at Amorette’s Patisserie. You can check out our review of the Princess Tiana cake and the Joe Gardner “Soul” cake.
