Grand Villa Room Tour at Disney’s Riviera Resort

There’s a lot to love about Disney’s newest DVC Resort, such as its convenient Skyliner access and delicious dining at Topolino’s Terrace and Primo Piatto.

However, even though the Riviera opened back in 2019, we only just now discovered our favorite thing about this resort, and that would be its Grand Villa.

Our park reporter Chrissy recently stayed in a Grand Villa at the Riviera; and if you can’t sleep in Cinderella Castle, this villa just might be the second-best option!

Let’s take a tour, shall we?

For starters, Room 8990 is a 3-bedroom, 3-bathroom, and 3 balcony Grand Villa which can accommodate up to 12 guests and is located near the top of the resort and right under Topolino’s Terrace.

Upon entering the room, the magic started immediately as the doorbell actually played “Be Our Guest” from Beauty and the Beast! Don’t mind if we do.

Even though there were bedrooms and bathrooms to the right, we decided to go left to check out the kitchen, dining room, and living room first.

The Kitchen

The full kitchen was equipped with all the appliances and amenities, and the fridge came with a water filter spout.

For those who choose to sit at the island, look underneath for hidden chargers!

Of course, the cabinets were fully stocked with every pot, pan, tool, and utensil you would need to cook and service an entire feast; and everything was organized, symmetrically arranged, and spotless.

They also contained several rolls of paper towels, dish towels, new dish sponges, dish soap, and dishwasher soap.

The cabinets are seeded glass and show off the glassware and dishes for 12 guests, including wine, water, juice, coffee, and casual drinking glasses, as well as a full set of dishes complete with serving platters and bowls.

For fellow coffee enthusiasts, we also found the fanciest Keurig we’ve seen at Walt Disney World. There are even settings for the strength of your coffee!

Imagine having breakfast or a late-night snack at a kitchen island with these views!

Now, while laundry isn’t a luxurious activity at home, a washer and dryer on vacation can be the epitome of indulgence and convenience.

One-bedroom and two-bedroom DVC villas usually feature washers and dryers, but we weren’t quite expecting what this Grand Villa had in store.

The laundry closet featured a full-size Whirlpool washer and dryer and was both front-load! Still, that wasn’t the only surprise as this closet was, interestingly enough, part of the kitchen area. Laundry soap was also provided.

The Living Room

The living room’s television was situated in an enormous entertainment center that also held beautiful decorations and real books.

In terms of furnishings, the bright, airy living room featured two ottomans, two comfortable armchairs, and a large sectional sofa complete with a napping chaise. Due to our extensive research, we can confirm that it is, in fact, ideal for napping.

There are also two nesting coffee tables and a sofa table all situated on a gorgeous area rug and facing the TV.

The entrance to the longest balcony is just near the TV.

The Dining Room

The formal dining room table seats ten comfortably and in a fancy manner complete with a chandelier. There’s also a high chair in the dining room closet.

The arched doorway separating the living area from the dining room features subtle, painted Mickey head details that can be found all throughout the villa.

The Bedrooms & Bathrooms

This is the first bedroom on the right when walking down the hall from the kitchen. It includes two queen beds with two benches, one armchair, a chest of drawers, a floor lamp, and three nightstands.

The balcony door takes guests out onto the main balcony which is the same off of the living room.

The room’s large closet wasn’t a walk-in, but it was still big enough for a luggage rack, 3 small shelves, and a larger shelf with the extra bedding.

This bathroom is the only one accessible from the living room. The other two bathrooms are en suite.

The sliding door is a nice way to stay on theme. Who wants to see a bathroom door swinging wide when you’re enjoying refreshments in the formal dining room? Such a nice touch.

Even though it can serve as a guest bathroom, it’s also more than adequate as a full bathroom and actually looks bigger than those at Disney value resorts!

We also loved how the decor is in line with the rest of the villa.

Now, onto the next bedroom…

Like the first bedroom, the second also has two queen beds.

The balcony also featured views of both the pool and the sunrise!

This room contained one armchair, a dresser, and television, as well as another full-length mirror.

Now, the en suite bathroom featured a galley-style layout but was still super spacious.

The one downside? Only one sink. But, there’s still tons of counter space and a water closet for the toilet.

The real star of this bathroom? The massive walk-in shower. This will be an ongoing theme throughout this villa.

Last, but certainly not least, is the Grand Villa’s master bedroom which is located on the right side of the villa. The two bedrooms and bathrooms are on the other side and closer to the dining room.

This bedroom has one king bed, two nightstands with two drawers, one wide armchair with an ottoman, and a floor lamp. The tray ceiling and sparkly chandelier were an extra fancy touch!

Per the TouringPlans resort room review standard, we checked the bedding for dates. The sheets were from 2021 and the pillows were all brand-new. Also, we can personally attest that the mattress felt like a cloud!

But that’s not the best part! We have to talk about the views of the fireworks FROM THE BED! Yes, you can actually watch EPCOT’s Harmonious fireworks while in your jammies, eating cookies, and cushioned by a pile of pillows.

We’re pretty sure this is what Disney meant about being the place where dreams come true.

This room’s private balcony overlooks the south view which includes the pool, Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, and the west view of the inner courtyard.

This means you can see both Tower of Terror and Expedition Everest from this side. This is also where you can have your champagne as you listen to Harmonious & marvel at the fireworks.

The master bedroom’s bathroom is also a huge highlight as it’s enormous and immaculately clean!

Check out this fantastic bubble jet tub!

By the way, that full-length mirror next to the door is one of four mirrors in this one bathroom.

It’s worth mentioning that this villa featured extra fancy toiletries that we haven’t seen at other resorts, and that includes the 3-bedroom Grand Villa at Copper Creek.

We were given toothbrushes, toothpaste, aloe gel, shaving kits, and more.

Let’s talk about the shower. We’ve seen college dorm rooms smaller than this and we’re pretty sure there’s enough floor space for a small car.

In addition to the giant ceiling-mounted rainfall showerhead, this fancy shower also has a detachable hand-held showerhead. Also, note the bench which comes in handy when you’re overwhelmed by all this luxury.

Final Thoughts

While the views this villa provides are absolutely stellar (check out our article on how to request this same Grand Villa – and its views – for yourself!), a million other small details made this accommodation one of the best we’ve ever seen on Disney property.

For instance, there were zero fingerprint smudges on the stainless appliances, no chips in the paint or smears on the shiny furniture, and even the glasses and pots and pans were arranged in the cabinet with equal spacing and precision.

In fact, Chrissy was only able to lure her little one out of the villa with the promise of smores; and even then, she quickly choked them down so she could get back!

All in all, this Grand Villa is a destination all on its own, and one of the best accommodations to be had at Walt Disney World!

  • Does a stay in this villa come with concierge services or some kind of guest assistance to help with dining at Topolin’s etc?
