Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort fans! Your time has come! The resort will officially reopen to Guests beginning on July 19!

When Guests return, they will be welcomed by a brand new porte cochere that showcases the mid-20th century architecture that the Poly is known for.  This is where Guests will find Disney’s Magical Express and valet. The new section will include an inviting design that features a high-pitched, open-truss roof that is going to be covered in a thatch style with pops of color. The area’s new open and airy vibe will be complemented by four chandeliers. These chandeliers are inspired by the glass floats, fishing nets and oversized bamboo elements that can be found on the chandelier inside the lobby.

Guests staying at the resort will once again be able to visit the front desk and concierge services in the Great Ceremonial House. (Currently the front desk can be found at Pago Pago.) To check in to the resort in a quicker manner, Guests should continue to use Online Check-in.

Unfortunately, the monorail at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort will not be available, as the renovation of the monorail station continues. The front entrance to the Great Ceremonial House will also open at a later date, and Cast Members will be available to assist Guests in accessing the side entrance to the Great Ceremonial House in the meantime. Work on the monorail station includes new wooden screens with geometric patterns in tropical colors, adding to the overall ambience of the entrance.

When the resort reopens, Guests should be staying in the new Moana-inspired rooms. These rooms are to be updated with new furnishings and fixtures. There will also be nods to characters from the film, including Moana, Maui, Hei Hei, and Te Fiti. More details about the room updates can be found here.

Stay tuned to the blog for more details about updates to Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort.
