Sweet Updates Are Coming to the Main Street Confectionary

The Walt Disney World Resort undergoing a number of renovations to gear up for the 50th anniversary. Today, we’ve learned about some sweet changes coming to the Main Street Confectionary at the Magic Kingdom.

As part of the refresh, this iconic location will receive a fresh new look, as well as an expanded layout with more room to shop. (It makes me so happy to hear that they are going to make the shop’s layout better! It’s always so cramped inside.) In addition, there will be new interactive opportunities that will allow Guests to customize their confections in ways they’ve never been able to do before.

The candy shop, located on Main Street U.S.A. is one of the first buildings you come to as you enter the park and head towards Cinderella Castle. The sweets include things like fudge, candy apples, cake pops, cookies, and more. (I can legit smell the shop in my nose as I’m writing this article.)

In order for the Main Street Confectionary to get these updates, the shop, as well as The Chapeau will need to close for refurbishment, beginning on March 29. Guests will still be able to grab their favorite treats though, just in different locations. Many treats will be found in the Emporium, as well as the Main Street Cinema during the closure. Guests looking for headwear will be able to find those at Box Office Gifts at the Town Square Theater. For those looking for collectibles and artwork, it will be found inside Bonjour! Village Gifts in Fantasyland.

We’ll be sure to share details here on the blog about other new enhancements for the 50th anniversary as we learn them.
