Top 3 Things We Ate at Disney This Week, September 18, 2021

The TouringPlans in-park team gets to try a lot of food and drink. From quick service locations to table service meals and snacks in between, we try so many different foods to help keep information on our site up to date. Sometimes foods and drinks are wonderful. Other times, not as much. But what really rose to the top? Here’s our top 3 food or drink options the in-park team sampled this week.

Club Cool Drinks

Love ’em or hate ’em, you can’t beat the price — Club Cool is back with all you can drink samples of soda from around the world. Although Beverly has quite the reputation for its anti-popular flavor, there are some that won’t cause your friends and family to run away in terror. For those who remember the flavors that used to be in Club Cool, these are new ones to try and experience.

Dark Chocolate Waffles

Found on the breakfast menu at Ale and Compass, these waffles are fun and yet have a sophisticated flavor. The waffles are dark chocolate, and so they’re not horribly sweet. A bit of sweetness comes from the mascarpone-espresso whipped cream on top. But the real delight in this are the dark cherries that add just a tiny bit of tang to the dish. It has the feel of an ice cream sundae for breakfast, just not as overpoweringly sweet.

Fall Acorn

Le Petit Cafe at Disney’s Riviera Resort is a hidden gem. Although they have regular treats (and the most sinfully good Cinnamon Cold Brew coffee!), they also offer seasonal treats as well. The one that we tried this week was the Fall Acorn. According to Disney’s web site, it is a Milk Chocolate and Chocolate-Hazelnut Cheesecake with caramel milk chocolate mousse, chocolate-hazelnut cheesecake, a roasted white chocolate shell, and graham cracker sable-inspired acorn. It also isn’t supposed to be available until 9/25, but it was there this week. I didn’t get a lot of cheesecake or caramel flavor with it, but the chocolate and touch of hazelnut was delicious. Even though it is small, my husband and I split it and couldn’t finish it because it was that rich.

That’s just some of the amazing things we’ve eaten this week. Have any suggestions for us next week? Let us know in the comments.
