At 2118 Massachusetts Ave is where you will find the Society of the Cincinnati – the nation’s oldest patriotic organization. Founded in 1783 by soldiers who served in the American Revolution, the Society aimed to spread appreciation in American independence. The current society utilizes its location in the massive and ornate Anderson House to display its broad collection of historical documents, newsreels, artifacts, and art. The exhibits can be viewed for free between 10:00 am and 4:00 pm Tuesday through Saturday and between noon and 4:00 pm Sunday.
