From a user: "Now I'll preface this with I'm a light sleeper and my girlfriend slept right through it but my night was miserable. The room was close enough to the elevator that I could hear the whooshing every time it went up or down. Bad enough for a light sleeper, but the worse part was something must have been wrong with the elevator because their was a loud clanging noise every time the elevator moved. It sounded like someone was tapping the floor above me with an aluminum bat. It kept me up until around 1. I was able to get about 4 hours sleep between 1 and 5 as thankfully they weren't being used much but as soon as 5 hit and people started moving up and down I was wide awake. Truly miserable."

I agree the noise is annoying, but we did get used to it after the first night and had no issues for the rest of the week. I believe the noise has to to do with the elevator mechanism that sounds like it is right above the room. You don't hear the doors opening or the ring from the elevator, instead it's a whooshing noise from the motor. The room location is great. We enjoyed the fireworks from the balcony, listening to the music from Epcot, and loved how easy the access was to the elevator.
