Storm Force Accelatron is a spiffed-up version of Disney’s nausea-inducing Mad Tea Party. In Storm Force Accelatron, up to 5 people are seated in a round plastic ride vehicle which has a metal wheel mounted in the center. Turning the metal wheel causes the ride vehicle to spin on its central axis. While that’s happening, each ride vehicle is part of a group of three similar vehicles, also spinning around a common axis. And the entire group of 12 ride vehicles is simultaneously spinning around the Accelatron’s center.

In Universal's take on this carnival classic, you spin to the accompaniment of a simulated thunderstorm. Flashing lights and loud music either really enhance the experience or make it much, much worse, depending on your stomach. A storyline involving the X-Men heroine Storm loosely ties this midway-type ride to the Marvel Super Hero Island area, but it’s largely irrelevant and offers no advice on keeping your lunch down.

Young children, teens and masochists like to lure the unsuspecting on to the ride, then turn the wheel like maniacs. It's also effective for seeing if you've recently developed any kind of inner ear disorder.
