According to the Orlando Sentinel, Disney Vacation Club will indeed be opening up a second round of DVC units at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge. These units are even expected to include waterfront cabins and will be considered the 14th Disney Vacation Club development.

To help accommodate this new addition, it appears that there will also be a few new updates of the resort. They include a guest boardwalk, as well as a new “bar grill” and a new pool.

While this rumored enhancement to the resort has been floating around for a while (and even with permits filed and such), it’s nice to see it is finally official.

There is no timeline that has been given for a completion date of this new Disney Vacation Club addition. I’ll make sure to keep you posted as I learn more about all the upcoming enhancements to the resort.

  • Wilderness Lodge tends to be the lowest-priced deluxe resort. Do you predict that that will change because of the updates (thinking more of non-DVC owners)?

  • Part of the speculation has included conversions of rooms in the existing lodge. Has this also been confirmed?
