In Case You Missed It!

Folks, we’re trying something new to have you saying “yum” and “wow” – oh wait, that’s someone else… I mean TGIF – a weekly wrap up of Disney news and rumors, fun stuff, and other cool things that sparked our interest in the last week:

In Case You Missed It

We love it when Disney shows up in unexpected places – like when the gals at Stuff You Missed in History Class recently ran a two part podcast on the history of the Haunted Mansion.

If you’d like to bring some DCL or resort magic home, check out this towel-folding article brought to our attention by Erin Foster.

Speaking of DCL, the Disney Cruise Line Blog has some final thoughts on the first cruises of the reimagined Disney Magic.

USA Today continued its video series on the Magic with a look at the adult areas of the ship. It’s not exactly hard-hitting journalism, but it’s a well-produced video. For a more critical look, check out our reviews of Fathoms, O’Gill’s, and Keys. has a photo tour of the Villas at the Grand Floridian. The Mary Poppins penguin fountain could not be more cute.

Love playing the interactive games at Walt Disney World, the LA Times Hero Complex shares how these fun distractions came to fruition and lessons they learned in the process.

You were encouraged to Show Your Disney Side this week. What do you think of the new campaign? On the topic of campaigns, Limited Time Magic is still going on. Do you think they’ll close out the year with a bang or a whimper?

EOnline ran an article on Disney-inspired viral videos. Bear in mind the Funny or Die and College Humor entries are NSFW (Not Safe for Work) and, as always, monitor what your kids watch on the Internet.

According to, Jon Favreau may be directing an adaptation of The Jungle Book for Disney in the future. What happened to the Magic Kingdom movie? Meh, Disney Kingdoms from Marvel in January will have to do for now.

Finally, do you listen to The Season Pass Podcast? If you’re into the the nuts and bolts of the theme park industry, this one’s for you.

If you have any suggestions for cool things we should run next week, write them on a silver Nikon Df camera with orange strap and mail them to with the words “In Case You Missed It” in the subject line.
