Certainly the best restaurant in Future World, Coral Reef is a great escape from the Florida sun. Grab a souvenir fish guide and check out the 8,000 sea creatures that call this place home— but are probably not on the menu.

Setting and Atmosphere

Though the decor could use a face-lift, you can’t beat the view in this darkened dining room, which faces one of the world’s largest saltwater aquariums; tiered seating gives everyone a pretty good view of the multitude of fishes (and sometimes Mickey in a scuba suit). The ethereal entryway gives the impression that you’re going under the sea; special light fixtures throw ripple patterns on the ceiling.

House Specialties

For a starter we like the Shrimp Cocktail and its unique presentation; Rather than the standard, boring cold shrimp in a glass dish and a side of cocktail sauce, these large chilled shrimp are served on skewers, with a charred lemon. Entrees include Grilled Vegetable Skewer with Impossible Kefta, Basmati Rice, Lentils, Smoked Eggplant Salad, Oven-roasted Herb Chicken served with seasonal Vegetables and Curry Vinaigrette, and 10-oz Slow-roasted Grilled Rib-Eye. Fans of Southern and Creole flavors will enjoy the Shrimp and Grits, which includes Sautéed Shrimp, Cheddar Cheese Grits, Local Corn Succotash, Andouille Sausage, Creole Spice Emulsion The kid's menu includes the Kid’s Junior Reef Steak.
