Summary

Restaurant Marrakesh rarely sees crowds outside of festival seasons with dining packages, so it’s a good option if you’re on the prowl for a prime walk-up or last-minute booking opportunity. Service is attentive but can border on formal, which may be off-putting for those wanting a more casual meal. The menu, while generally satisfying, rarely changes and features only faint efforts at spice-packed authentic cuisine nowadays. You may be better off with the more diverse flavors offered at Spice Road Table.

Setting and Atmosphere

Nestled in the far back corner of the Morocco Pavilion, Restaurant Marrakesh is pretty easy to miss from the outside but definitely wows once you step inside. A continuation of the ornate decorations of the Fez House courtyard near the front of the pavilion, Marrakesh’s interior is palatial, complete with stucco carving, intricate wood inlays, and colorful tile mosaics. Plush carpet and dim lighting date the decor a bit, but guests may be too busy enjoying the hourly belly-dancing and traditional-music shows to notice.

House Specialties

Entrées, such as the Mogador fish tagine and lemon chicken, truly shine above the muted flavors of the chicken and beef kebabs.

Other Recommendations

The goat cheese and olive spread with tabbouleh and red pepper sauce is a hidden gem to share before an entrée or as a midafternoon snack. For lunch, try the beef brewat roll (akin to an egg roll, with ground beef and hints of cinnamon). Dessert isn’t Marrakesh’s strong suit, so stick to the baklava, or skip it in favor of alternate options at the nearby Spice Road Table.
