    Pirates of the Caribbean

This attraction is scheduled to be closed temporarily from
Friday, July 5, 2024, to Wednesday, July 31, 2024.

Description And Comments

One of Disney's all time classics, this indoor boat ride takes you through a series of sets depicting a pirate raid on an island settlement, from the bombardment of the fortress to the debauchery that follows the victory. Your eyes will never stop exploring and drinking in the insane amount of details in the ride's scenery, props, and pirates characters. Disney Legend, Marty Sklar said it best: "From a story standpoint, from a design standpoint, everything we do is kind of measured against Pirates of the Caribbean." It's also worth mentioning that this is a great ride to escape the brutal summer heat or the freezing winter winds blowing in from Tokyo Bay.

The attraction includes characters Jack Sparrow and Barbossa in animatronic form, as well as a high-tech mist projection of Davy Jones, from the Pirates of the Caribbean movies.

Touring Tips

Another not-to-be-missed attraction. Undoubtedly one of the most elaborate and imaginative attractions in Tokyo Disneyland. Try to ride before noon, near park closing, or while a parade is in progress.

How's It Different From the Walt Disney World and Disneyland Versions?

Tokyo Disneyland's Pirates of the Caribbean is almost an exact copy of the original Disneyland version. If you have only experienced the Walt Disney World version of Pirates, don’t bypass this version thinking that it’s more of the same: it is far longer, more detailed, and better maintained than its Floridian cousin.

Is it English Friendly?

A talking skull will speak a few lines of dialogue in Japanese, but everything else is in English.
