Midway Games on Disney’s BoardWalk

We were luck enough to stumble upon the elusive Midway Games at Disney’s BoardWalk Inn – and they were open! It’s been years since we’ve seen these carnival games uncovered so we had to stop and play a bit.

You’ll find the midway games at the end of the boardwalk just across from the merch location, Thimbles and Threads. The Cast Members on duty the night we were there said they open in the afternoons when good weather allows. If there is any sign of rain, they’ll stay covered.

No cash?

Each game requires tokens to play – more on how many tokens you need for each game below. It may not be an official policy, but there was a family trying to buy tokens with cash on the night we were there. One of the Cast Members on duty was able to exchange the cash for tokens.

There are a few game options. The picture above is the “Shoot at Target” water game you’ve probably seen at every carnival or fair. Just like at the fair, the size of the prize each play depends on the number of participants.

Lob-A-Lobster

In the Lob-A-Lobster game pictured above, guests place a stuffed lobster on one of the eight launch machines. The goal is to hit the launch with the mallet with enough force ( and good timing) to land the lobster in the pot. Pricing and prizes are different at this game:

$5 for 5 lobsters (1 token)

$10 for 12 lobsters (2 tokens)

$20 for 25 lobsters (4 tokens)

1 lobster in the pot = small prize

2 lobsters in the pot = medium prize

3  lobsters in the pot = large prize

Hoop Toss

Hoop Toss was the most crowded game on the evening of our visit. We even saw a few folks win which is very different from our carnival experiences. You’ll get 5 shots for $10 (2 tokens), and 12 shots for $20 (4 tokens).

The BoardWalk Inn is a short walk from EPCOT and all visitors are welcome – even if you aren’t staying at the resort. If you’re looking for more information on BoardWalk fun, check out this post.
