We're here to help plan your Walt Disney World trip!

Even if you’re a veteran of many Walt Disney World visits, you’ll want to take a look at our new Disney World trip planning steps.  We've got tools, tips, and tricks for saving time, saving money, and having a total blast.

Planning Your Disney World Vacation

Planning a trip to Walt Disney World is a daunting task even for repeat visitors. We'll make your trip planning as easy as possible with our step-by-step guides and easy-to-use tools, saving time and money every step of the way.

Step 1: Decide when to visit

  • Use our Crowd Calendar to see when the Walt Disney World parks will be least busy. Though Disney is limiting the number of people that can be in each park each day, and overall crowds are smaller than they'd be without those capacity restrictions, there are some days when you may have to contend with larger crowds.
  • You can use our Crowd Calendar to plan around children's school schedules, holidays, and special events (we love those EPCOT Festivals!) that happen at Walt Disney World.

If you're on a budget, MouseSavers has a useful page showing the dates when Disney hotels offer discounts.

Step 2: Create a budget

Walt Disney World visitors may stay at a large variety of hotels on and off Disney property, with a wide range of themes and prices. First, take a look at our "Staying Onsite or Offsite?" and "Disney World Resort Benefits" pages to decide which one is right for you. If you decide to stay on Disney property, we have in-depth overviews on every Walt Disney World hotel.

With these steps you're ready for your Walt Disney World vacation. Over 120,000 families subscribe to TouringPlans.com every year.

Step 3: Decide where to stay

  • What’s important in your WDW hotel decision? Location? Price? Amenities like pools and recreation? On-site restaurants? Transportation options? We have the scoop on all that and MORE, with detailed guides to every Walt Disney World hotel. We can even help you fine-tune your selection by requesting a particular room at your hotel.
  • If you decide that staying off-site make more sense, we break that down for you too.

Step 4: Buy tickets

  • Decide which of Disney’s theme parks you want to visit and how many days you want to spend at each. When you know your travel dates and how many days you’ll spend in the WDW theme parks, head over to our Least Expensive Ticket Calculator to find, well, the least expensive tickets. Disney’s Park Hopper lets you move from one park to another on the same-day after 2 PM, so consider adding that if you'd like to explore one park in the morning and a different one in the afternoon or evening.

Don't know what to ride? We have detailed reviews of every ride, show and attraction in Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom, including best times to visit each attraction, the ride’s potential for frightening small children, height requirements, handicap accessibility features, and ratings. Most reviews include comments from other families, so you can get a wide range of opinions on every experience. We even cover Disney’s water parks - Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon.

Step 5: Make theme park reservations

  • All guests must have a Theme Park Reservation in addition to a theme park ticket. To make a park reservation, you’ll need a My Disney Experience account and a valid theme park ticket linked to that account.
  • Make your park reservations on the Disney World website. Availability may be slightly different for guests staying at WDW hotels, annual pass holders, and day guests.

Step 6: Decide where to eat

  • You know where you’re staying and which parks you’ll visit. That makes it easy to narrow down your dining options each day.
  • To help you make selections, we have complete menus for every dining venue at Disney World – including pricing! When you have your contenders, look on our blog for reviews and photos of all the yum.
  • 60 days before your trip, make reservations for any table service restaurants on your list. If you have trouble getting the times you want, use our EXCLUSIVE Dining Reservation Finder to get alerts when slots open.

Step 7: Conquer Walt Disney World!

  • When you’re ready to hit the parks, familiarize yourself with their latest practices on safety. Be sure to pack your mask before heading out to the fun!
  • Of course, you’ll want to take advantage of our namesake service – the Touring Plan. The mobile Lines app (on iTunes and Google Play) helps you build plans that let you experience everything the parks have to offer while spending the least amount of time waiting in lines.
