Priceline Summer Finds

We’re happy to finally be back with another Priceline hidden deal drop with a smattering of Value resort deals from May to September.

This particular set of Priceline Express deals is a bit different than previous ones – when we first found them there were significant gaps in the calendar between many 1 and 2-night deals. Some were alternating each night between different Value resorts. Typically when a set of Priceline hidden deals appear, they tend to sit as is with no changes until their dates pass – but on follow up checks we noticed some weeks in the calendar filling in with additional deals.

Also, we tend to see regular (non-hidden) prices in search results at the same time as the Express Deals, but in this case very few of the hidden deal dates also showed regular available rooms for the same resort! That can make identifying the hidden deal resort a bit harder – but far from impossible.

In previous recent posts we suggested the technique of selecting the “Guest Rating + Number of Reviews” sort order so that non-hidden and hidden deals appeared sequentially. Since that likely will not help with these current deals, here’s a handy dandy reference chart of the current guest ratings and review counts for all of the Disney Values as they have recently appeared in search results.

You should be able to use this info to figure out what resort each hidden deal is for. While all of these Value resorts are 3-stars, you’ll notice that almost all of them currently have a unique review count. For example, if you see a 3-star resort in Bonnet Creek with 300 reviews – right now that would have to be All-Star Sports as the only resort with reviews in the 300s.

You may notice that currently both Movies and Art of Animation have review counts in the 200s – but that is not a problem because AoA’s guest rating is 9, while Sports (and all the other Values) have guest ratings of 8.

Note: These ratings will change over time, but should be useful for awhile since hidden deals use rounded review counts. As long as Priceline doesn’t decide to do something unusual with their rating system, it would take a significant number of additional reviews for any of these resorts to end up with all the same factors for comparison.

The Basics of Searching Priceline for Disney Resorts

We’ve gone over the how-to of finding Disney resorts on Priceline in the past, so here’s a quick rundown so you can get started…

• All Disney resorts are found in the Bonnet Creek and Disney Springs neighborhoods on Priceline, so set your search filters accordingly.
• In the case of this particular drop – ALL of the Values are 3-star resorts in Bonnet Creek. (There are NO non-Disney 3-star resorts in that neighborhood.)
• When we check for hidden deals, we’re mostly checking 1-night at a time, so when searching longer windows of dates your mileage may vary on what you find.
• Priceline can be wonky (sorry to get technical there) – so if you are flexible, try moving your start and end dates around and see what you find.

For example, if our calendar only shows a Sports deal on a single date but nothing for the rest of the week, you may find that if you search multiple dates starting on that date the Priceline gods will smile upon you and show hidden deals for all of your dates. If not, keep the same start date and try a smaller window of dates.
