Exploring Disneyland Hotel at Disneyland Paris: Part 2
This is Part 2 of a photo-centric post related to a stay at Disneyland Hotel in Disneyland Paris in late January 2016. This post focuses on my hotel room. See Part 1 for photos of the hotel and its breakfast buffet.
To set the stage appropriately, note that I stayed in the cheapest class of hotel room (Chambre classique) during the cheapest season (Basse saison) at Disneyland Hotel. I checked in very early (around 9:30 AM) on Wednesday, January 27, 2016, and was pleasantly surprised to learn that Room 1420 was ready for my family.

My Floor 4 (fifth floor in US nomenclature) was above the second floor bridge that connects the registration building (where my room was) to the central building of the hotel (where the restaurants, stores, etc. are). Although Room 1420 by no means had a premium view, I could glimpse into Disneyland Park and saw Tower of Terror looming in the distance. It also was a great location in that it was the closest room on my floor to the elevator, minimizing travel time during my stay.
Room
Like many things at Disneyland Paris Resort, my room showed signs of age but had a ton of character to it. Clearly Imagineers put a lot of thought into the decor.
Goodies
I have occasionally stayed at nice hotels that provide a “turn down” service where chocolates are left on pillows in the evening. Disneyland Hotel took this a step further by delivering welcome gifts, as well as substantial evening treats on 4 of the 5 nights of my stay (I got nothing on night 3). Although completely unnecessary, these were nice touches that I’ll remember for years to come.
Final Comments
Since folks are bound to ask, I’ll share my opinion of Disneyland Hotel. In short, it’s a great place to stay if you’re vacationing at Disneyland Paris. It will not be the best value since other hotels (including other “on-property” Disney hotels) are substantially cheaper, but nice touches abound in details throughout the building, and the location can’t be beat.

More info on Disneyland Paris – particularly any other observations on the other hotels- would be great. My family are Australian and we have been to California and Florida. We now have a trip to Paris, with a convenient stop over in Hong Kong on the way home (two mickeys, one stone 🙂 ). But compared troves of info your and other sites have on the US parks info is limited on the other (and let’s be honest TP has spoiled me).
