Marvel-Themed Land to Be Built at Disney California Adventure
Back at the D23 Expo this past summer, the Walt Disney Company mentioned that there would be a new Marvel-themed area added to Disney California Adventure. However not many details were released about this new land minus a cursory mention. That is until today.
Shared as part a larger announcement (where it was released that Hong Kong Disneyland and Disneyland Paris would also be receiving similar lands) a new Super-Hero themed land will be added to Disneyland Resort and will begin “recruiting Guests” in 2020.
The current Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! will anchor this new land. It will be joined by Spider-Man and the Avengers in what will become a completely immersive Super Hero universe.
This new Marvel-themed land will be located in the adjacent space that is currently occupied by “a bug’s land.” It’s Tough to Be a Bug has already closed. The rest of the land will close in late summer.
We’ll have to see if it’s Universal Studios signature move of motion sickness inducing simulator technology.
(Haven’t been on the Harry Potter ride without someone out multiple people throwing up)
(Probably why Avatar lines are so long. They have to clean up the vomit in the little simulator Bay room)
I’m planning a Disneyland trip in 2020. But I figure I’ll just miss out just like I am this year with Toy a story land when my trip ends June 29.
