One-Bedroom Villa Tour: Disney’s Old Key West Resort + Video
My husband grew up visiting Disney’s Old Key West Resort.
When we would talk about staying there one day, I’ll admit it wasn’t ever at the top of my list. I thought the resort was pretty, but I wanted to stay closer to the parks, closer to the action!
Our last family trip, I told him to choose the resort (I live with a Disney curmudgeon. Getting him involved in the trip planning is CRUCIAL to our Disney success!). He choose Old Key West.
Friends, I had been SLEEPING ON this place! The rooms are huge, the atmosphere is calm and relaxed and it turned out to be the best family vacation we’ve ever been on.
Naturally, I had to get footage of the whole property, rooms included. To set ourselves up for a resort overview (coming next week), here’s a tour of a refurbished one-bedroom villa.

Thanks, Angela! So what made this the best family vacation? Should we really consider staying at OKW with little kids over the Boardwalk where we are closer to the parks? Were you driving or using Disney transportation?
I like the fact they have updated the OKW (Old Key West) resort. We stayed in 2015 and the bathrooms where pink…… Yes Pink. We stayed in 2018 it was much better. We have a party of 5 so we like the room OKW offers. Great Video.
They were not pink. They were coral…a little more orange than pink. OKW has been my home resort for 25 years.
I miss all the colors at OKW, the colourful dishes, walls etc that gave it personality now they are more generic.

The refurb is definitely much nicer from what I’ve heard and the photos I’ve seen. I’m sure your party is much more comfortable in the OKW rooms than another resort. It’s a great place to stay! – Angela
