Working Around the World: Best Remote Working Spots at Walt Disney World

Let’s be honest, Walt Disney World isn’t exactly designed for remote work. It’s loud, hot, rainy, full of Dole Whip, and you’re much more likely to be spending time on your phone hunting for Lightning Lane times than checking emails. But for a growing number of guests – remote workers, digital nomads, or families combining school breaks with a few meetings – it’s becoming more and more common to spend a workday (or part of one) somewhere on property.

So I decided to test it. Over two weeks, I worked from about a dozen different spots around Walt Disney World. I took Google Meet calls, answered and wrote emails, did a bunch of data engineering, and yes, ate a few beignets. Here’s what I found.

Evaluation Criteria

Each remote work location around Disney World was evaluated for the things that matter most when you’re trying to be productive for a significant period of time. And I talked to Cast Members and spent at least 3 hours in each spot to make sure that I got a good idea of what anyone could expect. For every location, I took a bunch of qualitative notes. But for easy comparison, I also rated locations on the following categories using a scale of 1-5 stars.

• Location and Accessibility: Where is the working spot? How difficult is it to get to via Disney transportation or car?
• Vibe and Ambience: Is it an empty concrete room? Are there animals grazing nearby? Does it give off co-working space aura?
• Noise Level: How quiet is this location? Is there background music? Will you hear vacationing families all day?
• Wi-fi/Power: Will the wi-fi be strong enough for your video calls or VPN? Are there outlets for charging your devices?
• Seating Options/Comfort: Will you have a desk or table you can use? Are there comfortable chairs or places to shift around throughout the day?
• Food & Drink Access: Where can you get your favorite beverage, breakfast, or lunch nearby?
• Duration Friendliness: Is it possible to work here all day? Are there better times of day?
• Video Call Background Quality: If you need to show up on screen, how professional is the background?

Each of the following spaces gets my stamp of approval for remote working from Disney World.

Carolwood Pacific Railway Room, Wilderness Lodge

The Railway Room is in the Boulder Ridge Villas building, and it’s my top recommendation. If you need an almost total lack of interruptions, a real desk, and the ability to disappear into your work for hours, this is your ideal remote office. It’s perfect for heads-down tasks or calls where you don’t want to be interrupted.

Location and Accessibility

Access this hidden gem via boat from Magic Kingdom, or by bus from any other park. It’s a bit out of the way, but it’s a good option if your family is spending the day at Magic Kingdom or you’re heading there after your workday is done.

Vibe and Ambience

Rustic and rich in Disney railroad history, this room is themed but subtle, with wood-paneled walls and vintage touches that feel both cozy and grown-up. It’s almost like you’re working from a ski lodge, without the skiers!

Noise Level

The music loop is calming and not intrusive; you could film a meditation video in here.

Wi-fi/Power

There’s fast, stable Wi-Fi and plenty of outlets.

Seating Options/Comfort

It has desk seating, armchairs, couches – plenty of ways to shift through your day without getting stiff.

Food & Drink Access

Just steps from Geyser Point, one of the best outdoor dining spots on property, with good Mobile Order and readily available tables. Lake views are a bonus.

Duration Friendliness

It’s usually empty; you can stay here all day and not bother a soul.

Video Call Background Quality

On Zoom calls, others may think you’re at a lodge, but nothing screams Disney.

Voyageurs’ Lounge, Riviera Resort

This is the spot for remote workers who want a semi-old-world co-working vibe with great snacks and reliable amenities. The right pick if you want to look productive and polished on video, but still take a coffee or pastry break two steps away.

Location and Accessibility

The Skyliner makes this spot super-easy to access. Just take a quick gondola ride from EPCOT, Hollywood Studios, Caribbean Beach, Art of Animation, Pop Century, or any Crescent Lake resort.

Vibe and Ambience

It has a beautiful, refined feel; clean, elegant, and neutral. Think Disney’s version of a co-working space with a European library twist. But you’ll be sharing space with others doing the same thing.

Noise Level

You’re steps away from the lobby, which leads to a lot of families peeking in or grabbing a table to eat a snack. Being lobby-adjacent also means the noise fluctuates. It’s usually tolerable, but you’ll want headphones for meetings. The background music here is spectacular, with acoustic versions of many Disney classics with a Parisian twist.

Wi-fi/Power

Wi-fi and power are one of the best setups I found, with outlets galore and consistent, fast speeds. If you run out of power, it’s your own fault.

Seating Options/Comfort

There are tables, chairs, lounge seating, and a long communal work table with built-in outlets. Bring your whole project team! (Just kidding … kinda.)

Food & Drink Access

You’ve got Le Petit Café (for coffee and pastries), Primo Piatto (for real meals), and Bar Riva (for post-work cocktails), all just steps away. The dining lineup doesn’t get any better than that. If you close a big deal, you can even celebrate with dinner at Topolino’s Terrace!

Duration Friendliness

No one will hassle you, and the setup is good enough for a full day, but be mindful of peak lobby traffic, and plenty of others wanting to get things done.

Video Call Background Quality

On video calls, you’ll look like you’re working from a boutique European hotel, because … you basically are.

Nautical “Office” Nook, Yacht Club

This location is best for business travelers or solo park-hoppers who need a real workspace near EPCOT or the Crescent Lake resorts. It’s quiet enough for deep work, with just enough hotel bustle to remind you you’re not back home. And it looks the most impressive on video calls.

Location and Accessibility

The Yacht Club is walkable from EPCOT and the BoardWalk area resorts, or via the EPCOT Skyliner station from other locations.

Vibe and Ambience

You’ll find this office nook tucked off the main lobby and up a flight of stairs. It’s cozy and matches the subtle theming of the resort, although it might make you feel like you should be selling DVC to unsuspecting passersby.

Noise Level

Yacht Club is generally quieter than Beach Club or BoardWalk, but you’ll hear a steady stream of suitcase wheels and flip-flops. It’s fun when a kid is excited to see Pluto. It’s less fun when a tired and cranky family gets into an argument as they walk past to their room.

Wi-fi/Power

There was excellent Wi-Fi and plenty of outlets under the desk.

Seating Options/Comfort

This is one of the few locations where I felt like I was at a “real” desk. Because I was! The chair was supportive, and the desk was an appropriate height.

Food & Drink Access

Food and drink are a weakness of this spot. Ale & Compass is a great sit-down option just a flight of stairs away, but Quick Service options are not great.

Duration Friendliness

You can stay all day, and the only time someone might care is if they thought they could work in the same spot.

Video Call Background Quality

On Google Meet, it’s understated, elegant, and professional; so well-curated that people might assume it’s a fake background image.

Jambo House Back Porch, Animal Kingdom Lodge

If you’re looking for a work spot with a view and you don’t mind giving up a few conveniences for the chance to see some wildlife, this is your place. It’s well-suited for reading, deep focus work, or taking non-video calls in the most tranquil setting on property.

Location and Accessibility

Unless you’re staying at Animal Kingdom Lodge, or have a dining reservation at one of the restaurants, you’ll need to take a bus from a theme park. It’s worth it if you’re staying nearby or exploring Animal Kingdom in the morning before you work.

Vibe and Ambience

You can watch giraffes while you send Slack messages. No, seriously. Rocking chairs face the savanna, and the atmosphere is calm and soothing.

Noise Level

In the background, you’ll hear mostly rustling grass, with occasional squeals of excitement when guests walk outside to see the animals.

Wi-fi/Power

The wi-fi is fine, but there are no outlets unless you head back inside.

Seating Options/Comfort

The flip side is that rocking chairs are great for relaxing, but not so great for balancing a laptop. Bring a lap desk if you can.

Food & Drink Access

When you’re ready to take a break for lunch, Sanaa is fantastic, and the Mara Quick Service has great options and Mobile Order.

Duration Friendliness

No one will chase you away, but this location is best for a couple hours of reading, light work, or relaxing.

Video Call Background Quality

On Zoom it’s gorgeous, but unless you’ve got a steady hand or lap, your coworkers may get a motion-sickness-inducing tour of the savanna.

Scat Cat’s Club, Port Orleans French Quarter

This one is for those who value peace, power outlets, and powdered sugar equally. If your perfect work day starts with a beignet and ends with your inbox sitting at zero unread, this lounge delivers.

Location and Accessibility

You can get to Port Orleans French Quarter by bus from any park, and also by car. If you tell the cast member at the parking gate that you’re here for beignets, they’ll wave you on through.

Vibe and Ambience

This is a lounge, and when closed, it’s gloriously empty. Low lighting, art deco touches, and no characters … or other humans … in sight.

Noise Level

Zero music. Almost no foot traffic. It’s one of the quietest spots I found.

Wi-fi/Power

Tons of outlets, and stable wi-fi.

Seating Options/Comfort

There are tables and chairs galore, plenty of options for any work style.

Food & Drink Access

Those famous Mickey beignets are right next door to this “workspace”.  And there are some unique Quick Service options just a few more steps away at Sassagoula Floatworks!

Duration Friendliness

You can set up shop and stay all day. Just be mindful that when the lounge officially opens for the evening, the atmosphere will change.

Video Call Background Quality

I had zero hiccups on my calls, and as a background, the space looks like an industrial-themed, brick-walled co-working space, as long as the stage doesn’t sneak into view.

Papa’s Den, Old Key West

If you like a mix of indoor and outdoor work zones with a laid-back vibe, this spot is a great choice, especially if you’re staying nearby or taking the boat from Disney Springs. It’s good for flexible schedules and people who want to shift between lounging and laptop time.

Location and Accessibility

Old Key West is a little trickier to get to, but you can arrive via bus from a theme park or boat from Disney Springs.

Vibe and Ambience

Papa’s Den is bright and island-themed without being kitschy. Lots of natural light and seating options give it a relaxed feel.

Noise Level

It’s relatively quiet, unless the lobby gets crowded during peak check-in/check-out times. There is a small table and big TV screen for kids tucked away in the corner, which could draw in a louder demographic, but I rarely saw it get used. Most of my “co-workers” here were nappers taking advantage of comfy chairs (seriously) or other folks getting some work done.

Wi-fi/Power

The wif-fi was strong indoors and out, and outlets were plentiful inside but less so on the patio.

Seating Options/Comfort

Seating includes indoor tables, outdoor high tops, and a few comfy couches and chairs. Not many “desk-like” setups, but good enough.

Food & Drink Access

For food, Good’s Food to Go Quick Service is your main option; it’s fine, but not inspiring. You’ll want to reward yourself with dinner somewhere more exciting at Disney Springs after your workday.

Duration Friendliness

You can stay here all day without issue.

Tropical and bright. On video calls you’ll look like you’re vacationing … professionally.

Honorable Mention: World Showcase Pavilions

This one’s for the ambitious park-goer who insists they can work while touring EPCOT, and doesn’t need consistent access to power outlets to do it. It works especially well early in the morning when most visitors are still focused on attractions. Find a spot (almost any spot, really) within the Morocco pavilion, or head to a remote corner of the outdoor seating area for Katsura Grill in the Japan pavilion. Wi-fi is still reliable, and you can get a lot of work done before the afternoon and evening bring the more … rambunctious visitors that populate the World Showcase.

Final Thoughts

No two workdays at Disney will look the same, but that’s part of the fun. Whether you’re hopping on a video call between Lightning Lane availability refreshes or planning to log an eight-hour day before heading to dinner and fireworks, there is a spot that will work for you.
