Animal Kingdom posts 5th-highest waits of past year – Disney World crowds for Monday, July 12, 2021

Disney’s Animal Kingdom’s attractions had an average posted wait time today of 54 minutes, the highest of the past month, and 5th-highest since the park reopened last year.  Avatar Flight of Passage led the way with posted wait times as high as 150 minutes throughout most of the afternoon (with actual waits as high as 131 minutes).  Over in the park’s Asia section, Kali River Rapids‘ average posted wait of 57 minutes was the highest since reopening in 2020, too.

Crowds at the other three parks were relatively lower.  The Magic Kingdom’s average posted wait of 37 minutes would be the second-highest of the past month, but the 93 actual wait times we’ve received so far today from the park are only 60% of the posted waits (so around 22 minutes), so the posted waits are probably overstating how busy the park was.

Rise of the Resistance is having a decent day of operations.  Rise of the Resistance began calling boarding groups around 8:45 AM today, and it looks like they’ve had only a couple of slowdowns (from around 10:30 AM to 11 AM; and 12:30 PM to 1 PM).  Rise is at boarding group 120 as I write this, and should get to around boarding group 140 today.
