Are Changes Coming to the Disney Dining Plan?!?
Is Disney adding a third Dining Plan option? Are they changing the names of the Dining Plans? It sure seems that way! At least according to a few Disney surveys sent to us by some TouringPlans Liners (TouringPlans Subscribers).
The current Disney Dining Plan includes two options:
- The Disney Quick-Service Dining Plan, with 2 Quick Service Meals and 1 Snack per person ages 3 and up for each night of your stay
- The Disney Dining Plan, with 1 Quick Service Meal, 1 Table Service Meal, and 1 Snack per person ages 3 and up for each night of your stay.
Both Plans include 1 Resort Refillable Mug per person per reservation. If you’re interested in purchasing the current Dining Plan options, we’ve got some math ready for you.

New Disney Dining Plans and Names?
An especially sharp-eyed Liner sent us screen shots from a recent Disney survey they received after a visit to Walt Disney World. The survey asked a series of questions about new Disney Dining Plan names. More specifically, there were three plans – with new names – and our Liner got 11 questions just about how they felt about the names.

There are some important things to note about this graphic from Disney’s survey:
- There is a third Dining Plan option, the Ultimate Dining Plan that shows 2 Table Service Meals, 1 Quick Service Meal, 1 Snack, and 1 Resort Refillable Mug.
- The graphic shows that the proposed new name for the Quick Service Dining Plan is “On-the-Go Dining Plan”
- And the proposed name for the “Disney Dining Plan” is “Essentials Dining Plan.”
How Do You Feel About These New Dining Plan Names?
The survey had multiple questions asking their feelings on just the names of the Plans:

A second wonderful Liner sent in a similar Disney survey…

This survey also has 3 Dining Plan options with the same number of meals per Plan, but the names are different! The Disney Quick Service Dining Plan name remains the same, but the Disney Dining Plan name is changed to “Table Service Dining Plan.” The new Plan is named “Deluxe Dining Plan” under this survey. Yep. This should sound familiar because Disney had a Deluxe Dining Plan in 2020 and didn’t keep it in place when they reinstated the DDP in 2023.
Update 8/19/25:
We have received a third set of screenshots from a Disney survey sent to a guest / Disney Dish listener who had a recent Walt Disney World visit. This survey asks similar questions about a different set of names for the Dining Plan.

Summary of the proposed DDP name changes based on the surveys we have received:
Disney Quick Service Dining Plan New Name Proposals
- On-the-Go Dining Plan
- Quick Service Dining Plan
- Value Dining Plan
Disney Dining Plan New Name Proposals
- Essentials Dining Plan
- Table Service Dining Plan
- Classic Dining Plan
New Plan Name Proposals
- Ultimate Dining Plan
- Deluxe Dining Plan
- Signature Dining Plan
While these are just surveys and not official Disney announcements, it does appear that we can look forward to a third Dining Plan option and maybe some new names for the existing Plans, too. None of the surveys included information about possible pricing for any of the Plans. Have you received a similar survey with different names? We’d love to see it! Email len@touringplans.com
What do you think about possible Dining Plan changes? Do you have an opinion on the names? Are you excited about the possibility of a Deluxe / Ultimate Plan being added? Please let us know in the comments!
Unless they want to change the perception of the offering, changing the names seems a little pointless. I don’t think they should use Deluxe, however, for that level of plan, unless they introduce ‘Deluxe’ and then ‘Ultimate’ for what was in effect the previous Plus and Deluxe tiers, respectively.
The main thing they should focus on, as others have said, is value. Alcohol isn’t widely drunk by everybody at every meal, so people don’t want to pay for it. Also, the post-COVID pricing is outrageous. There are very few cases in which is makes sense to purchase it!
Full agree with this. They could call it “1, 2, and 3” and I’d be thrilled if it was an actual value again.
Great to see they’re thinking about bringing it back. As a local, I’m still holding out hope for a return of Tables in Wonderland or some similar dining discount card.
Sigh. Same. Tables in Wonderland was fab.
Good info; thanks for posting!
(though what I really want is a cheaper, no-alcohol version of at least one of them; our next trip will have a 10yo and a 14yo and even if the numbers worked out–they don’t–it would still drive me crazy to think about us subsidizing other people drinking)
Hi hizouse -You’re right. It’s hard to make the math work unless you include alcohol. I’ve used it in the past when I’m part of a large group since it takes some of the stress out of planning but I for sure know it’s not a good value. Thanks for reading!
