Best Bets for a Quick Breakfast at Universal Studios Florida

Start your day on the right foot with breakfast at Universal Studios Florida. This article will cover all the breakfast options available in USF and CityWalk, as well as our touring suggestions and the best bets for your pastry and caffeine needs.

Before Entering the Park

If you are entering the parks from the bus loop or parking garage, then you will pass through Universal Orlando’s CityWalk shopping and dining district before entering the parks. Two locations in CityWalk offer breakfast options in the morning.

  • Starbucks – Located on the left, across from the Cinemark Theater. The ubiquitous coffee chain serves a wide array of coffee-based drinks, pastries, and breakfast sandwiches. Order Ahead is not available at this location.
  • Voodoo Donuts – Located next to NBC Grill Brew, the iconic donut makers set up shop in Orlando and sling a wide variety of donut types. Coffee and Coke products are also available.
  • The Kitchen at Hard Rock Hotel – Located just a five-minute walk from the park’s front entrance, The Kitchen at Hard Rock Hotel serves breakfast starting at 7:00 am. Choose from a breakfast buffet of pancakes, waffles, omelets, biscuits and gravy, breakfast meats, fruit, and much more for $34 per adult and $18 per child plus tax. Breakfast entrees like pancakes, French toast, waffles, and breakfast sandwiches are also available at a lower price.

Unless you arrive at CityWalk early enough, about 90 minutes before the park opens, these locations will typically have a long line of guests waiting to purchase their caffeine fix.

Today Cafe

The closest breakfast spot to the front of the park is Today Cafe, located across from the wait times board by Villain-Con. Today Cafe is a bright and airy quick-service restaurant themed after the Today Show on NBC. Menu items include overnight oats, pastries, breakfast sandwiches, and Orlando roasted coffee. In this humble author’s opinion nothing beats an everything bagel seasoned croissant and a cup of cold brew (the best on property) from Today Cafe. Walk-up counter service and mobile ordering are offered. Indoor and outdoor tables are available but fill up quickly in the morning.

Starbucks in Universal Studios (at night).

Starbucks

The worldwide favorite has an outpost in Universal Studios Florida in the New York section of the park, across from the entrance of Louie’s Italian Restaurant. Thanks to its out-of-the-way location in the middle of the park, it is one of the least crowded Starbucks on Universal property. USF’s Starbucks offers the same items as the CityWalk location, including pastries, breakfast sandwiches, and a variety of coffee options. Like the other Starbucks at the resort, this location does not accept Order Ahead pickup. Outdoor seating is avaialble.

Leaky Cauldron

For a more relaxed meal at a table then swing by the Leaky Cauldron in Diagon Alley. The tavern from the Harry Potter series serves a staple of British food like an egg, leek, and mushroom pasty (think a flaky hand pie) and a full English Breakfast. But don’t worry, if the concept of eating beans in the morning sounds disgusting (it is) there are options for a pancake breakfast (our suggestion), an American breakfast, and an apple oatmeal flan. The order kiosks are a bottleneck at Leaky Cauldron, skip the wait and use the Mobile Order option. Breakfast is served from the ark opening till 10:30 am.

  • Beans for breakfast is definitely NOT disgusting! Have you even tried the full English breakfast? It’s great! Have to say though, a croissant instead of toast is a bit weird.
