Best Drinks at the 2024 EPCOT Food & Wine Festival
Here at TouringPlans, we’d like to help you drink responsibly – with your wallet, that is! With so many potables, both zero-proof and full-test, here are our recommendations for the 2024 Food & Wine Festival drinks that are worth your dollars. We’ve even got a little section at the end for a few that we think are definite skips.
What should you prepare to pay? Beer and wine prices vary, with most beers at about $5.75 but a few with higher price tags. Most cocktails are in the $11-14 range. On the cheaper end, the non-alcoholic drinks are usually marked between $4.50 and $6 — and are often eligible for purchase with DDP Snack Credits. You can see the full Festival menu here, including just a few drinks that are missing below because our parks team needed to leave some space for the food.
Best Zero-Proof Drinks at 2024 Food & Wine
The tricky part of “best” is that some of these drinks were love ’em or hate ’em options, far more than happened with the food. You can see from our notes where we thought some things just need to be tried! We’re thrilled to see Disney offering more mocktails at every Festival, but our next request would be for more of them to be not so sweet.
Kyoho Drink | Japan – $7.00
The calpico is sweetened and mellowed a bit by the Kyoho Black Grape, and it’s a perfect lightly sweet complement to the sweet-salty Eel Temaki Sushi. We think both the sushi and this drink make this booth a must.
Pickle Milk Shake | Brew-Wing Lab – $6.00
The Pickle Milk Shake is almost as divisive as Beverly (iykyk), but can you even say you’ve been to Food & Wine if you don’t have a picture of it? Some of us like it, but we know many who don’t have a single positive thing to say about it. You’ll just have to try this one for yourself. And hey, even if it’s a no from you you can bring home your souvenir cup and brag about being a member of the Pickle Milkshake club.
Mango Peach Bubble Tea | China – $7.75
Do you like green tea bubble tea? Do you like mango? If that’s a yes and yes, this one is a no-brainer. It’s sweet, cold, and refreshing – and it’s huge enough to last you through a few booths. The price is on the higher side for a non-alcoholic drink, but we think the serving size definitely makes up for it.
Blood Orange Agua Fresca | Earth Eats – $4.75
On its own this is pretty sweet, even if you love Agua Fresca. But the Short Rib from this booth is a must-eat that we’ve raved about elsewhere (you ARE getting it, right?) and this is perfect as a foil for the puttanesca sauce.
Frozen S’mores | Festival Favorites – $4.75
This tastes exactly as advertised, and caused a bit of a ruckus among our tasting crew. Some of us loved it (those who have not lost their preschool sweet tooth and can chug a jug of maple syrup). Others thought it sticky, sickly sweet, way too sweet, diabetes in a cup sweet. You might love this Frozen S’mores, but be prepared to exceed your sugar quota for the day in a single cup.
Frozen Pomegranate & Raspberry Tea | Brew-Wing Lab – $5.00
If you loved Dippin’ Dots and Creamsicles then the orange flavor molecules in this frozen drink will resonate with you in the best, most nostalgic way. The raspberry tea flavor is strong, but it’s also pretty sweet; altogether it’s quite a nice drink. Given that it’s in a souvenir cup, this is a steal.
Caramel Apple Milk Shake | Sunshine Seasons – $10.99
The Caramel Apple Milk Shake has a nice cinnamon apple flavor, but it felt more like a dessert than a drink with the cake pop & crust. And the crust was a cute touch, but ours was a bit soggy … it ended up being a garnish because it wasn’t that enjoyable to eat.
Belgian Chilled Coffee | Belgium – $5.00
You can also get this Belgian Chilled Coffee buzzed up with ChocoLat Deluxe Salted Caramel Chocolate Liqueur, but we enjoyed it without the alcohol. It has a nice coffee flavor that is strong enough to stand up to the melting ice and not so strong that you need to wait for it to melt.
Best Boozy Drinks at 2024 Food & Wine
Standard warnings apply; especially if you’re visiting on a hot day you’ll want to be careful as the effects can rack up quickly. Especially because some of our picks go down quite smoothly indeed.
Swine Brine | Flavors from Fire – $11.50
Bourbon, apple cinnamon, lemon and mustard are not flavors for the umbrella-drinks crew, even before you get to the “piggy wing” garnish. We think the Swine Brine is fantastic, a puckery delight laced with bourbon that has a “standing against the rail at the saloon” vibe. But if you like your cocktails sweeter maybe give it a pass.
Red Sangria | Spain – $7.50
A fruity red sangria that’s very nice. But not nice enough to be worth the line unless you’re getting something else from this booth. Our recommendation: unless you’re dedicated to trying the Paella Negra or the Spanish Charcuterie (neither one really thrilled us), go a few steps over to Morocco. If you head into the Pavilion you’ll find a Shareable Sangria for $22 that’s every bit as good and a larger serving (even when shared!) as well.
Mango Sunrise Margarita | Mexico – $13.25
The balance of alcohols is great and the chili-lime salt rim is top shelf. This is a high price tag, especially for a pre-mixed drink, but we think it’s worth it. Unless you hate margaritas, this should be on your list.
Frozen French Cosmo | France – $14.95
Like the gin cocktail from France (see below), this was a very drinkable drink. The flavors were nice and well-mixed – there was nothing stunning or unexpected, but there’s a reason that Cosmos are very popular cocktails and this one is a great example.
Irish Milk Shake | Festival Favorites – $12.50
Guinness always goes down smooth and you know that Baileys and ice cream do too. This was a perfect pairing to the pierogis here, with enough oomph to stand up to the kielbasa and onions. Anyone from the Ohio / PA region is going to know this shake is a natural bookend to the meal at this kitchen. It will be even better when the weather cools a bit and will see more of our money for sure.
Cocktail au Gin et Aux Fraises | France – $13.95
The color of this gin cocktail was gorgeous and the drink itself was light and refreshing. We rated it very drinkable in the best way … the way where you look down and suddenly it’s all gone.
AULANI Sunrise | Hawaii – $14.00
As tasty as it is beautiful, this fruity and fun drink was a winner with our parks team. The flavors aren’t complicated, but they work together well.
Greek Melon Limeade | Greece – $11.50
This Greek Melon Limeade was a really nice drink, with a bit of tang and acidity from the lime but just enough sweetness from the Aelred Melon Apéritif. This was very refreshing on a day when the sun was hot.
Frozen Rosé | The Alps – $9.00
She might not be the snazziest, but she’s just-right-sweet, cold, and excellent. It would be even better if it came in ICEE-sized cups so it could accompany you around the Festival, especially on the hot humid days in September. Every year there are flashy new beverages all around the Festival, but the Frozen Rosé will always be on our A-list.
Berry-vanilla Float | Swirled Showcase – $13.00
Is it a refreshing drink or is it a dessert? The ice cream melts quickly and makes this a creamy, fun, and refreshing drink. But we think you could easily call this dessert if you down it fast enough. And it looks great to boot; the presentation is beautiful.
Skip These Drinks at 2024 Food & Wine
We had so many different opinions on some of the drinks that when something was universally panned it’s a pretty bad sign. Even if you’re into gambling, why risk it? There are so many better options, especially if you’re trying to stick to a budget — give these drinks a pass.
Boyd & Blair Grapefruit Mule | The Fry Basket – $12.00
Our parks team didn’t love this. The grapefruit was overpowering – enough that even if you’re a grapefruit lover, you might find it a bit much.
Frozen Caipirinha | Brazil – $12.00
Alas, we don’t have much good to say about this one. This mostly tasted like straight alcohol, and the flavors – what there were of them – weren’t well mixed. About the best that can be said of it is that it’s cold on a hot day.
