Disney California Adventure will be celebrating the Mexican tradition of Día de los Muertos, otherwise known as the Day of the Dead, with a new seasonal offering from September 15 through November 2. This immersive celebration will include special entertainment including musicians and dancers, interactive activities, like a representation of Mexican folk art and special décor and food inspired by this Mexican celebration of family.

Of course, Disney will be tying in its upcoming Pixar film, Coco, with special themed experiences that have been inspired by the film. Once the celebration of Día de los Muertos ends, the Coco experiences will then move to “a bug’s land” beginning on November 5. There will also be a sneak preview of the film, which will run through January 7, 2018.

In addition, Guests who head into Cars Land between September 15 through October 31 (coincidentally for the new Haul-O-Ween event) will find that Ramone will be paying tribute to Día de los Muertos. Ramone will celebrate this time with a full-sized Sugar Skull Car and a traditional “ofrenda” display honoring the gone, but not forgotten, Doc Hudson.

The good news is that Disneyland will continue to offer its traditional Día de los Muertos skeleton display in Frontierland this year as well, from September 15 through November 2.

Will you be visiting the park to celebrate with your family?
