Disney in a Minute: Who are the JAMMitors?

We’re here with a series of quick posts, “Disney in a Minute,” bite-sized nuggets of information that can better help you understand a Disney term or planning topic. Enjoy!

If you’ve walked through EPCOT and seen a bunch of guys banging on trash cans, then you’ve witnessed the JAMMitors. “JAMMitor” is a portmanteau of “janitor” (cleaning crew) and “jam” (musical improvisation). These talented percussionists perform in a joyous drumming style, reminiscent of the Stomp phenomenon, using “found objects” as their instruments, rather than purpose-made drums. It’s a fun diversion for most guests and a true treat for those interested in percussion.

The JAMMitors give the feel of impromptu entertainment, but they actual perform on a regular schedule that you can find on the My Disney Experience app. Each show lasts about 10-12 minutes, with five to seven performances per day.

They are currently appearing in the World Celebration area of EPCOT, near the walkway between the Creations Shop and Connections Cafe, but they have moved around several times, so be sure to ask a cast member or check their current location on the My Disney Experience park map if you can’t locate them.
