Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge Construction Update

Lakeshore Lodge will be the next addition to Disney’s Vacation Club inventory. Situated next to Fort Wilderness, it should offer its own set of amenities and allow DVC and regular resort guests lots of opportunities to enjoy days away from the parks. Boat transportation to the Magic Kingdom is another obvious perk for this location and will presumably include stops at other Bay Lake resorts. Lakeshore guests will also have Magic Kingdom fireworks views and excellent seats for the Electrical Water Pageant.

It doesn’t get more “next to” than this.

This is the view of construction this week from Crockett’s Tavern at Fort Wilderness.

Above is the view from the docks at Clementine Beach at Fort Wilderness. One of our in-park reporters took the boat from the Magic Kingdom earlier this week to grab some shots of the construction scene.

Lakeshore Lodge is expected to be ready for guests in 2027 and will be the 14th DVC property in Walt Disney World. The most recent DVC resort to open is the Cabins at Fort Wilderness. We’ve stayed in the new cabins a few times and we’ve loved them each visit. The kitchen is vastly improved over the old models and the addition of transom windows all over – even the bathroom!- gives the entire space a much lighter feel. The bunks in the bedroom are pretty fantastic, too. You can find a full photo tour of one of the cabins here.
