Two Additional Magic Kingdom Restaurants Add Alcoholic Options
A while back, the Magic Kingdom started allowing Guests to have the option to enjoy an alcoholic beverage with their dinner, if they so chose. This option was available at most table service locations in the park, but not all. Now, two additional restaurants have been added to the list of Magic Kingdom restaurants where Guests can choose to enjoy alcoholic beverages. Options will include beers, wines, ciders, and more at both The Plaza Restaurant and at The Crystal Palace.
Here are the current choices at each restaurant:

These two restaurants join Be Our Guest Restaurant, Tony’s Town Square, Liberty Tree Tavern, Jungle Skipper Canteen, and Cinderella Royal Table in offering alcoholic options. This makes these two choices an even better option for those on the Disney Dining Plan, which as of 2018 allows Guests to have one of these or other specialty beverages with their meals.

Slippery slope is being proven at the Magic Kingdom, no question.
I’m starting to see more inebriation at MK, not just Epcot.

I can’t imagine they’ll be selling many beers at Crystal Palace. Mimosas though… they’ll move some of those.
I was at Disney World last September, thinking there wouldn’t be many children there. But I got to tell you, I saw many more children having meltdowns than I saw drunk adults.
Agreed. The only place you might see people getting noticeably boozy is World Showcase—and with the exception of Frozen, kids tend to find World Showcase boring anyway.
This both makes me angry and makes me sad. No alcohol should be sold in any of the parks . . . which by the way are meant for families and kids! We’ve about gotten to where we won’t go to EPCOT b/c of all the drunks the kids are exposed to and have to deal with being around. I hate it that the Magic Kingdom is going down this slippery slope.
It’s been a long time since Disney was just about families and kids. Kids don’t have money, but adults do. And many adults like spending the same amount of money to have one drink in public as they would had they bought the whole bottle at their local liquor store and drink it in private. And if Disney can profit on that, they are going to do it!
I’m happy about this change. Plenty of us know how to drink responsibly. It’s an interesting quirk of American culture that we don’t like our children to watch us drink.
“Slippery slope” is a logical fallacy. I hate this news, but for other reasons. That said, to put your worries aside, have you ever eaten at the Crystal Palace? They churn and burn tables like nothing…the same as all popular WDW buffet/family-style restaurants. I love and drink a lot of beer and I’d be hard pressed to get two down during the time it takes before they’re downright pushing you out the door so the next table can sit.
I have eaten at the Crystal Palace on many occasions, most recently November 2017, and I’ve never felt rushed. We have plenty of time to eat and visit with the characters. I’ve always felt that way at all of the restaurants. We are personally usually not taking our time b/c we have other Disney stuff to do!
And to clarify, what I meant by “slippery slope” was that it starts at one restaurant . . . then two . . . then three . . . then before you know it, every stand around the Magic Kingdom is selling it and you have the mess that has become the World Showcase. The kids in our family like going to the different places . . . it’s probably as close as we will ever get to seeing the areas in real life . . but the alcohol smell and the behavior and all is getting to where the kids don’t want to go to World Showcase. We are on a family vacation at a family theme park . . . we aren’t at an adult only resort or spring break. And at this rate . . . all Disney parks are going to be like World Showcase and I hate to see that happen.
The alcohol smell? Thats laughable. Your kids don’t want to go to world showcase because kids hate world showcase. I agree that I have seen people get out of hand with drinking but that is far and away the exception. Disney has always been a place for adults to vacation and have fun as well. You should to 1700 puritan Massachusetts. No alcohol smell there.
Actually, our two kids have always enjoyed world showcase. And yes . . . if you are never around alcohol, it has a smell and it’s not a smell that my family enjoys. Make fun of us all you want with your “puritan” comment, but not everyone in the world drinks. I don’t have a problem with people drinking in appropriate places. I don’t have a problem if Disney offered a glass of wine to drink at dinner at the sit down restaurants. But there is a huge difference between that and selling beer and liquor at kiosks around the parks. And it appears that is where Disney is headed to in all the parks. I just hate to see that happen.
