Pop Flashback Friday

Visiting Pop Century Resort is always a trip back in time, as the resort is a tribute to the 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s. But there is now a new event on Fridays that celebrates looking back, Pop Flashback Friday.

My favorite part of the event is the Pop Flashback Friday photo booth, which is available throughout the day. Instead of an actual booth, this is a backdrop, found off the lobby and next to the entrance of the Everything Pop Shopping and Dining. The backdrop has the main logo for the resort, as well as each decade’s logo. It’s a fun picture even if you didn’t want to use any of the extras. Next to the backdrop, there is a table set up with props you can hold in your picture. The props include each of the decade logos, as well as several themed elements, such as a cassette tape and a mirrored disco ball. There is even a prop with the event hashtag, #PopFlashbackFriday, on it. Along with the props, there is a fun frame that matches the backdrop, with the resort’s hashtag. I think this photo spot fits perfectly with the theme of the resort, and would be a great permanent addition.

Pop Flashback Friday also has events throughout the day.  There is a Scavenger Hunt around the resort, which you can request at the front desk, and a Pez Guessing Contest, which is found inside Everything Pop Shopping and Dining. Both can be done when it is convenient to your schedule.

Then, there are the scheduled events during the afternoon and early evening. At Everything Pop Shopping and Dining, Timeless Trivia is from 1:00 PM To 3:00 PM in the store, and Groovy Bingo is from 1:00 PM To 2:00 PM in the food court. Do the Hustle by the front desk at 6:00 PM.

The Hippy Dippy Pool has several Pop Flashback Friday events:

• Retro Pool Party, 3:00 PM
• Totally Rad Dance Party, 4:00 PM
• Throwback Craft, 4:30 PM
• Decades Trivia, 5:00 PM
• Mickey Tie-Dye (Costs Extra), 6:00 PM

There’s also a Drink Of The Day at the Petals Pool Bar, and Tie-Dye Cheesecake in Everything Pop Shopping and Dining, though the Tie-Dye Cheesecake is pretty famous among Walt Disney World fans at Pop Century already. The resort also reminds you to use the #PopFlashbackFriday hashtag, so that’s a fun way to see more pictures of the event on Twitter and Instagram, or to add your own after visiting.
