Review: Everything We Ate at the 2025 Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party
We partied, we tricked, we treated, we ate! The first Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is history and we want to show you the Party-exclusive food our team tried so you know what to get and what to skip!
Here are some things you should know about Party-exclusive food:
- The Jack Skellington popcorn bucket goes on sale at 4:00pm and you’ll need your wristband to purchase one.
- Mobile order for all guests shuts down at 4:00pm and reopens when the Party begins at 7:00pm.
- You can order Party-exclusive food in person at most locations starting at 6:00pm.
Spoiler – Friar’s Nook is the clear winner again this year! We love that they brought back a few favorites and we really loved the new stuff and the fact that the prices for the returning items stayed the same as last year was a real treat.
The Friar’s Nook

- Buffalo Chicken Hand Pie – $9.99
Buffalo Chicken and Mozzarella wrapped in a Flaky Dough topped with Blue Cheese Crumbles and Buffalo-Ranch - Bowl of Bones – $13.49
Pork Wings fried with Jalapeños and tossed in Barbecue Sauce made with Cherry Coca-Cola® - Haunting Jalapeño Ranch Tots – $10.49
Tots topped with Black Bean Chili, Cheddar Cheese Sauce, and Jalapeño Ranch - Not-So-Poison Apple Doughnuts – $6.49
Apple Cider Doughnuts rolled in Apple Cider Sugar and drizzled with Caramel Sauce
Yep, all of the savory dishes have a bit of kick but nothing was red alert level! Pluck off the Jalapeños on the Bowl of Bones and you’re left with some lovely, sweet bites. We love traditional Buffalo wings so the Hand Pie is always going to be a yes for us. The Tots are a bit harder to enjoy if you’re really spice-averse because of the Jalapeño Ranch, but this is another dish that has some warm heat and lots of flavor. Plus it’s more than enough to share. Let’s talk about the doughnuts! Sure, the sugar looks really artificial, and yes, it absolutely will leave a red stain on your fingers, but they’re delicious! Ignore the food dye and focus on the fact that these doughnuts taste like the ones you get at a really good pumpkin patch in the fall! They have real chunks of apples and we weren’t expecting to like them as much as we did. Don’t skip this spot.
Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe

- Buzzard Wings = $11.99
Whole Chicken Wings tossed with Grilled Onions, Jalapeños, and Lime - Grilled Masa Flatbread – $12.99
Grilled Corn Cake topped with Braised Chicken, Butternut Squash Puree, Cilantro-Pumpkin Seed Sauce, Shredded Lettuce, Pico de Gallo, and Queso Fresco - Pumpkin Pie Mini Churros – $6.99
Rolled in Orange Sugar and served with Pumpkin Pie Dipping Sauce - Chocolate-Caramel Tart – $6.29
Chocolate Tart Shell filled with Chocolate Ganache, Caramel Sauce, and Caramel Cream topped with TWIX® Cookie Bar Pieces and a Chocolate Piece
The culinary team really went full creepy with the design of the Buzzard Wings, but they’re so good that we don’t care. We’d love for them to be crispy but we will absolutely get these again during our next Party either way. The Churros and Tart were just kind of meh, so we’d skip those and get the doughnuts at Friar’s Nook if you’re after something sweet that isn’t a Twix bar. Let’s talk about the Flatbread!
Don’t be put off by the mass of toppings plopped on top -they’re so good! The Grilled Corn Cake was a little tough for us, but the Braised Chicken and Butternut Squash Puree was so nice with the Cilantro-Pumpkin Seed Sauce! We don’t even like cilantro, but this was so well done. She’s not pretty, but she’s filling and yummy.
Sleepy Hollow

Disney went hard on the whole “make it look like they shouldn’t eat it but then make it tasty” vibe this year and Sleepy Hollow was in on the theme.
- Creepy Kimchi Corn Dog – $10.29
Hand-dipped Corn Dog rolled in Malt Vinegar and Scallion Ash with Hades Relish and Kimchi-Mayonnaise Dipping Sauce - Pumpkin-spiced Funnel Cake Sundae – $8.99
Pumpkin Funnel Cake topped with Pumpkin Gelato, Whipped Cream, Pumpkin-spiced Caramel, Marshmallow Pumpkins, and Sprinkles - Madame Leota Seance Candle – $6.29
Red Velvet Cake and Cookies and Cream Mousse
The Creepy Kimchi Corn Dog was so good! It starts with a hand-dipped corn dog, which is key. If you’ve had the Mini Corn Dogs at Casey’s Corner, then you know what a soggy cornmeal coating is like. Shade intended. When a corn dog isn’t hand-dipped, you get that slimy layer between the hot dog and batter and it makes for a sad meal. This isn’t that. The Corn Dog batter is thick and has a perfect firm crust. Everyone knows that Malt Vinegar is superior on fries and corn dogs and this is no exception. The Kimchi dipping sauce and Scallion Ash (how fun is that name?!) and Hades Relish keeps the theme and gives a plucky twang to the corn dog.
We enjoyed the Pumpkin-spiced Funnel Cake Sundae more than we expected, too. We’re fussy about both funnel cake and anything pumpkin-spiced, and this was good on both counts. Even with our endless photos and twisting and turning about with the funnel cake, it held the crispy edges and didn’t get soggy – the sign of a good fry!
Golden Oak Outpost

- Cajun Crawfish and Sausage BOOtine – $13.49
Waffle Fries topped with Cajun-inspired Crawfish, Andouille Sausage Gravy, and Cheese Curds - Beignets from Beyond – $8.79
Light, sweet, and fluffy beignets with powdered sugar and chocolate cookie crumbs served with cookies and cream cheese dipping sauce - Hot Honey Lemonade – $6.29
Minute Maid® Premium Lemonade with Hot Honey and a Chili-Lime Rim
Maybe this is a first-night foible, so we’ll try this dish again at our second party, but the BOOtine was a huge miss for us. Something this expensive needs to be worth the extra cash and this just isn’t. The spice was a huge problem because it all seemed to be dumped in a few intense areas, and we couldn’t stir this up like we would a regular étouffée because of the waffle fries. The crawfish was fine, but we were frustrated by the presentation and moved on quickly. Skip for now, but we’ll give it another try and report back.

Someone call Tiana and let her know Golden Oak Outpost is besmirching her culinary reputation in the name of Party food. These beignets were cold, on the cusp of being too grease-laden, and we had to fight off a swarm of bees just to get them. Call the “another great day of saving the bees” lady when you reach out to Tiana because we need her smoke! We will bet our last lagniappe that Disney hauls out whatever intervention they used in EPCOT last summer when the bees took over the Joffrey’s donut displays because something needs to change before the next Party! Bees or no bees, save your money and skip these beignets.

This is just regular old lemonade with a rim that’s going to hurt your mouth and make you regret the money you spent. Skip.
We’re back in the Magic Kingdom for the second Not-So-Scary and we’ll report back about everything we ate and what we wanted to throw, so stay tuned!
