What Is Celestial Park?

Celestial Park is the central hub of Epic Universe and where each of the four themed worlds are accessed. Universal says they want to add the “park” back into the “theme park”, so expect lots of lush gardens, trees, seating areas, and large pools full of dancing fountains. Inside Celestial Park are three quick-service dining locations, two full-service restaurants, several bars, food stands, and two large merchandise locations.

Overview of Celestial Park

Upon entry into the park through the turnstiles, guests arrive at the grand Chronos Tower and Epic Universe portal; on the left are park lockers and rentals, and on the right is the Guest Relations facility. Upon walking through the portal, guests arrive at the Luna statue overlook, which provides incredible park views. The buildings housing the park’s main retail location, a confectionary, and other park services are flaking the overlook.

Veer to Celestial Park’s left and see Atlantic Restaurant, Super Nintendo World portal, Pizza Moon, Oak and Star Tavern, CelesTiki, Dark Universe portal, and The Blue Dragon restaurant. Meanwhile along the right is a quick service cafeteria, the How To Train Your Dragon portal, a burger astro pub, and The Wizarding World portal. The Helios Grand Hotel and the Oculus Fountain are at the back of Epic Universe.

Celestial Park Rides

Constellation Carousel

Restrictions: None
Ride Time: TBD
Scope: Major Attraction

Located under the massive, ornate dome in the middle of Celestial Park is the Constellation Carousel, a modern carousel with ride vehicles inspired by the zodiac. Most carousels feature two degrees of movement – the main circular motion of the ride plus some rideable animals going up and down. Constellation Carousel adds several other degrees of motion that expand the ride experience – the main circular motion is augmented by three smaller rotating platforms (think Alien Swirling Saucers at DHS) and individual ride vehicles rotating. Combine this dynamic movement with the bright and colorful interior and we expect this ride to be a huge hit with families.

Constellation Carousel is one of Universal Orlando’s most accommodating rides – it has no height or size restrictions and the ride vehicles lower to the ground for easy loading and unloading. As one of the first attractions seen inside the park, we expect the carousel to be very popular in the mid-morning through the afternoon.

Stardust Racers

Restrictions: Guests must be at least 48 inches (122 cm) tall to ride.
Ride Time: TBD
Scope: Headliner

The star attraction of Celestial Park, Stardust Racers is a launched roller coaster with inversions and a unique two-track, racing design. Inspired by shooting comets and other nighttime phenomena, Stardust eschews the normal track lighting and instead opts for illuminated coaster trains to create the illusion of shooting stars in the dark sky. Don’t worry, reportedly a famous Universal scientist has attached a special contraption to the back of the vehicles for assistance.

Stardust Racers will be the most intense rollercoaster at Epic Universe, it will send guests upside down and launch them up to 62 mph with a simple lap restraint. With the ride’s intensity and the dual track design’s high capacity, lines will remain short for Stardust throughout the day, except after storms. We suggest riding Stardust Racers before noon or after late afternoon.

Celestial Park Food & Beverage

Celestial Park acts as Epic Universe’s main dining space, offering the only two full-service restaurants in the park along with four quick-service locations. At the front of Celestial Park is the Atlantic Restaurant, serving a mix of high-end seafood and steaks, a candy shop, and a mixed Italian/Mexican quick service location. At the back of Celestial Park is The Blue Dragon pan-Asian restaurant, Meteor Burger pub, Oak and Star Tavern for BBQ and brews, and my personally most anticipated bar – CelesTiki.  We can’t wait to grab a cocktail and relax around the Oculus show fountain basin at night.

Celestial Park Shopping & More

Nintendo Super Star Store is located in Celestial Park.

You will find Epic shopping opportunities in Celestial Park because this is a theme park and they need your money love it when you leave with amazing memories. Around Luna Overlook is the main shopping location of Epic Universe, full of merchandise available around the park and general Universal items. Attached is a confectionary creating take-out treats and a Christmas shop (because every park needs a Christmas shop). Midway through Celestial Park is the Nintendo Super Star Store, a one-stop shop for all your Mario and Donkey Kong needs.

TouringPlans Touring Tips

  • Celestial Park acts as the park’s central hub, expect it to open first and close last every day. Upon entry from the front gate, head to the left for Super Nintendo World and Dark Universe and to the right for the How to Train Your Dragon Isle of Berk and Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic.
  • Stardust Racers’ location and design will make it the park’s iconic attraction, expect it to have the longest lines in the morning and evening. The two-track design should keep lines under 45 minutes on most days.
  • Constellation Carousel is one of the few family-friendly rides in the park, expect waits to build in the late morning and through the early evening. As one of the few indoor attractions in the park expect it to be swamped during rain storms.
  • Atlantic and Blue Dragon are the two full-service restaurants in the park, book reservations online at least two months before your visit.
  • Escape from the themed worlds and dine in Celestial Park for the shorter lines.
