Attractions

Universal Studios Hollywood is transporting guests into their favorite worlds in exclusive attractions, shows, and fan zones. Plus experience the existing roster of Universal Studios attractions to get your geek on.

Walkthrough Attractions

Think “haunted maze” but without the haunt. These experiences mix actors, incredible sets, amazing effects, and a detailed story that brings these worlds to life. You do not want to miss these attractions.

Star Trek: Red Alert is an all-hands-on-deck mission to prevent an alien invasion on the bridge. Join Star Fleet in 2403 by beaming aboard the Starship Enterprise as they work to neutralize the threat. Walk through the bridge, engine room, and more as actors and special effects send you on a mission for peace. Fans of the Star Trek experience from Las Vegas will undoubtedly love this experience.

Dungeons & Dragons: Secrets of Waterdeep is a Gygax dream, featuring a full puppet Xanathar. Adventurers head to Waterdeep as they help the Harpers to thwart a nefarious plan by Xanthar to save the town. Guests will walk among seven different locations in this walkthrough experience, from our campaign opening to Xanthar’s layer. Will you be victorious in Waterdeep or succumb to the evil plan? A D20 is not required for entry.

Shows

Jujutsu Kaisen: Hunger of the Cursed is a translated version of the Universal Studios Japan Cool Japan summer event video that takes guests into the world of Jujutsu Kaisen (not Kaizen for you continuous improvement folks). This series covers high school student Yuji Itadori as he becomes host to a horrible curse to protect his friends and total strangers. The series features Yuji’s high school life mixed with the adventures of a secret society dedicated to eradicating his curse.

Debuting for the first time in Hollywood, Hogwarts Always is a new projection and fireworks show at the Hogwarts Castle. Relive a full school year at Hogwarts as Hogwarts Castle magically transforms into the visuals of a school year at Hogwarts. The show highlights magical classes to Christmas, Quidditch to the Maurarders Map, and it all culminates in the awarding of the Hogwarts Cup to one of the four houses at random.

Fan Zones

Few things make me feel more like a Millennial than One Piece – the hit anime about a friend group led by Luffy the pirate who is looking for the fabled One Piece, the ultimate treasure. This amazing fan zone will celebrate the comradery and humor of the hit anime and TV series. One Piece: Grand Pirate Gathering on the upper lot is the party all fans want, with meet and greets with their favorite characters, themed environments, and interactive props.

Great Scott! Take the Universal Studios Tram down to Courthouse Square for Back to the Future: Destination Hill Valley. This hub to all things BTTF includes meet and greets with Doc Brown and his dog Einstein, dancing at the Enchantment Under the Sea ball (before Marty interrupts), and even watching as Marty goes back to the future with the help of a freak lightning storm.

Meet & Greets

Don’t forget to say hi to some new friends at Fan Fest Nights! These new meet-and-greet experiences are only available during the event!

Join a new scavenger hunt to meet the Yoshi! Let’s Go Yoshi! is a new experience in Super Nintendo World to find five Yoshi eggs through the land and meet a Yoshi. Meet an Occany in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Hogsmeade for the first time. This fantastic beast is among many new characters, like the Niffler, guests can encounter in Hogsmeade during FFN.

Rides

Select Universal Studios Hollywood attractions are open during Fan Fest Nights:

  • Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey
  • Flight of the Hippogriff
  • Secret Life of Pets – Off the Leash
  • Despicable Me Minion Mayhem
  • The Simpsons Ride
  • Jurassic World – The Ride
  • Revenge of the Mummy – The Ride
  • Mario Kart Bower’s Challenge

Food, Beverage, & Merchandise

Universal offered our friends at Inside Universal an early look at the food, drinks, and merchandise at FFN. I’m excited to see the Back to the Future food options and Dungeons and Dragons merchandise.

Costumes & Guidelines

Universal is encouraging costumes and cosplay at Fan Fest Nights. But note there are some strict rules:

  • Guests may not create a false impression that they work for Universal or are emergency personnel.
  • Guests must be fully clothed, including shoes and shirts.
  • Except as required by Universal or for religious or medical reasons, guests may not wear any covering that fully or partially obscures a person’s face, including costume masks and facial coverings.
  • Face painting (both full and partial face) is permitted, provided that alcoholic beverages will not be served to guests whose face painting covers more than one-half of the face.
  • Prosthetic makeup that conceals any part of the face other than the forehead (including makeup that conceals the eyes, nose, or mouth) is not permitted.
  • Clothing that Universal determines is indecent, exposes excessive portions of the skin, or that Universal views as inappropriate for a family environment (including, without limitation, gory or gruesome clothing or accessories) is prohibited.
  • No weapons of any kind are permitted.

This is a limited list of restrictions. For the complete list of costume guidelines at FFN visit Universal Studios Hollywood’s site.
