Universal’s Epic Universe Frequently Asked Questions
We are months away from Universal’s Epic Universe opening, and we know you have lots of questions. We have compiled a handy FAQ to answer some of the most commonly asked questions about Epic Universe.
What is Universal’s Epic Universe?
Epic Universe is Universal’s newest theme park in Orlando, Florida. Themed around a mystical Chronos statue that powers portals to other worlds, this park features over two dozen attractions and restaurants between five themed worlds. Worlds include Celestial Park, Super Nintendo World, Dark Universe, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic, and How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk. The park features over a dozen new attractions, from blockbuster super headliner dark rides based on popular characters to high-intensity rollercoasters to family-friendly flat rides.
When Does Epic Universe Open?
Epic Universe opens May 22, 2025.
Will There Be A Preview Period for Epic Universe?
Yes, there will be a preview period. Universal confirmed previews for Team Members and Annual Passholders and, if previous theme park openings are to go by, the general public before the official opening date. No dates or information on previews are available at this time. Watch TouringPlans Blog for the latest information on Epic Universe previews.
Will Epic Universe have Early Park Admission?
Yes, Epic Universe will offer Early Park Admission (EPA) to all guests staying onsite at a Universal Orlando hotel. EPA is an hour of exclusive park access to select attractions before the official opening. Universal has not said which attractions will be part of Early Park Admission, but we expect Celestial Park and another land to be open.
When Will Tickets Go On Sale?
Limited ticket options are now on sale. The general public can purchase a multiday ticket with one day at Epic Universe and Universal Orlando Annual Passholders can now purchase Epic Universe single-day tickets for 2025. We expect Universal to sell other ticket options in early 2025.
What is the ticket price for Epic Universe?
Ticket prices start at $134.99 per person plus tax for a single-day ticket.
Will All Multiday Passes Only Include One Day at Epic Universe?
There will be a multiday pass option sold in the future that includes admission to Epic Universe on multiple days. Stay tuned to TouringPlans Blog for the latest news on Epic Universe tickets.
Will an Annual Pass for Epic Universe Be Available?
Universal Orlando has not discussed an Annual Pass option for Epic Universe, but we expect an option to become available close to or shortly after the park opens. We expect a new UOAP offering for the three theme parks and an option for existing UOAP passholders to upgrade their pass to include Epic Universe.
Will Epic Universe Use Park Reservations?
We don’t expect Universal to use park reservations for the park, instead, they’ll do a phased closing approach where they first stop selling day tickets, then close to day guests, then close to guests staying on the property.
Is there bus transportation between Epic Universe, the hotels, other theme parks, and CityWalk?
Yes! Dedicated busses from all of Universal’s hotels and CityWalk/Universal Studios Florida/Islands of Adventure to the new park.
Where Do I Park?
Epic Universe has a dedicated parking lot located at 1001 Epic Boulevard, Orlando FL 32819. We advise parking in this lot and not the parking garage at CityWalk to avoid the approximate 15-minute bus ride to the new park.
What are these portals I keep hearing about?
A central design motif of the park are elaborate portals to the themed worlds at Epic Universe. There are five portals in total – one to enter the park, one to Super Nintendo World, one to Dark Universe, one to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, and one to How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk.
What dining options are available?
The park’s central hub, Celestial Park, contains most of Epic Universe’s dining locations, including the two full-service restaurants Blue Dragon and Atlantic. Each world has its themed dining, like Toadstool Cafe in Super Nintendo World and Meade Hall in the Isle of Berk.
Which hotels are closest to Epic Universe?
There are three Universal Orlando hotels located around Epic Universe. Helios Grand Hotel is the park’s iconic hotel located at the back of Epic Universe offering amazing views of the park. Stella Luna and Terra Nova hotels are sister hotels located next to the park offering moderate-value accommodations.
What shopping opportunities are at Epic Universe?
Each land has several themed shops selling items from wands to Koopa shells, dragons to monsterous items. Celestial Park will be home to the park’s central shop (similar to The Emporium at the Magic Kingdom), a candy store, and a dedicated Super Nintendo World store.
