WDW Room Request Feature Last Day is April 19, 2026
The last day to submit Disney World hotel room requests through our site is April 19, 2026. The Room Finder feature will remain available – it’s the “send a request automatically” part that is ending.
The reason for this change is that Disney wants all guests to go through My Disney Experience’s room request feature going forward. That makes sense for a number of reasons, including consistency and efficiency.
We launched the Room Finder tool in 2013 as a way for you to find the best hotel and location for your trip. We launched the room request feature in 2015. Since then we’ve sent over 250,000 room requests, and I’m confident it helped make thousands of familes’ trips better. We’ll continue to update the Room Finder data as resort refurbishments happen.
Thanks very much to Disney’s Centralized Inventory Management team for their support over the past 11 years. They’ve been a great group to work with. I truly believe they do their very best to fulfill every request they receive.
I’ll close this post with a view from our most-requested hotel room: Disney’s Polynesian Villas room 3914, requested nearly 2,600 times over the years.

I hope Disney improves the room request choices then. I never need a crib or adjoining rooms. But I love your feature that I can list what type of room I’d prefer, location, floor, view. I’ve gotten my requests more than not. If they allow these types of requests it would be great. If they don’t I hope you can find a work around. It’s a great feature to Touring Plans. All the comments about this being the only thing you use Tour Plans for….you’re doing it wrong. They have so many helpful additional items. I absolutely love my custom tour plans. They work so great and since I’m a planner they give me a great snap shot of my plans each day.
Thank you, Erica!
Thank you for having provided this capability these many years. It has been a while since our last trip but the ability to find and request the quiet rooms for a light sleeper like me was always a blessing. Despite normally staying in the value resorts (including All-Star Sports) our trips were peaceful and quiet, often across 12-day stays. I would still highly recommend using this capability even if it requires then making MDE requests. Every bit of information helps
Quite discouraging. Disney room requests are minimal & very general & broad & leave no space for comment.
You can call to make more specific requests.
I’ve been procrastinating over signing up for this for weeks as I haven’t got around to working out which rooms to request!! Typical luck!
I have 7 upcoming short stays at WDW in the next 3 months, so perhaps it’s still worth joining and getting the requests in before 19th April? However 5 of them are DVC rentals – can those be requested through TP currently, or would I still have to contact the owner to make requests?
Thank you for the great resource
Hi Sara – You can get those requests in now, including for DVC. I’ll send you an email.
Thank you SO MUCH for the email, that is very greatly appreciated! I will get on with that this evening. You guys are great!!
Sorry, me again… it will only let me select dates until 30th April 2026 – has it now been changed to reservations only within this month? I can’t work out what I’m doing wrong, I get an error message saying “Room Requests can only be created for check-in dates within the next year. Based on today’s date and your current TouringPlans WDW Access, you may set up a room request for stays with a check-in date of April 30, 2026, or earlier. (You can renew now if you need to extend that date.)”
What a bummer! It’s the sole reason I signed up for Touring Plans. MDE only allows very general requests.
Let’s see how the dust settles here, and what methods (if any) Disney has for making requests. If it’s something we might be able to work with, we’ll give it a shot.
Thank you, Len, for everything you and your team do!
Thanks Jessi! I appreciate your support!
This is such a bummer! I’ve been using this feature for years with almost perfect success–if I didn’t get the exact room, I often got the one next door (assuming it was the right category)
That’s great to hear, Maureen!
Sad to see this feature go, as I have used it with much success in the past. I already have my request for my August trip entered (it was one of the first things I did) so fingers crossed.
Will the room finder feature still have the request text available so I know what language to use in order to *attempt to make a request on my own?
*I say “attempt” because MDE is, how should I put this…less than useful.
This is very sad and bad news. First I just renewed and this feature was 1 of the main reasons. As for the MDE room request, it is absolutely HORRIBLE, a complete joke.
Thanks Buzz! Let’s give it a couple of weeks to see if there are other channels that will accept room requests. If so, we might be able to automate that.
Disappointing to hear. I quickly made sure all future reservations had a room selection here.
Fingers crossed there’s some sort of work around! We’ve had great luck over the years using this service for both our DVC & resort stays.
So disappointing. It is the only reason we subscribe to TP.
I’m so sorry to see this feature go! It was an incredible service that I will miss. It was always a highlight of the trip to get my room assignment and see if I got my pick! Thank you for years of smiles and tears of joy. The MDE app has big shoes to fill.
Thank you, Jennifer! If it’s still possible to make requests outside of MDE, we’ll try our very best to support it.
This is awful! I just renewed my subscription to make room requests and now it won’t be available to use. I’m not happy!
I’m so sorry, Nancy! If you can get those room requests in by Sunday, we’ll send ’em!
This tool got us those Standard Views of the Savannah at Jambo on a couple of occasions. It was great.
Any truth to the rumor I saw today that AI is picking all the room assignments now and early check-in is not effective?
Hey Matt! Yes, my understanding is that a new AI-based system launched last fall. It’s possible this is an outcome from that.
Thanks for having this for so long! It was a great feature and I almost always got very close to my request.
Thanks Eve!
I am sad to see this feature end – we’ve had a lot of success with it over the years! I appreciate the heads up it is ending. If we have a trip planned in August and we get our request in before April 19th, do you think it will still be linked with our reservation? Thank you!
We’re told they’ll do their best, Christine, so yes.
I’ m sad the room request is going away but please, do keep the room finder. I’ve used it so many times on arrival day to see where exactly was the Room they given me, and was able to change room because I had so much info with the room finder.
This is terrible news. Your Room Request Feature was one of my TouringPlans favorites and was amazed how many times I actually received the room you requested (or very close to it.) It’s one of the reasons I subscribe to TouringPlans.
MDE’s check-in with “high floor/low floor” is simply not the same as your feature.
