15 Rides & 2 Fireworks Shows at Magic Kingdom After Hours
We attended the first Magic Kingdom After Hours earlier this week and managed to complete 15 rides and watch 2 fireworks shows during the ticket hours of 7:00pm – 1:00am.
The What and When

After Hours are special ticketed events held in the Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, and Hollywood Studios. They aren’t parties – the focus is on riding your favorite rides with very low wait times and thin crowds. We’ve got a post about the pros and cons of this ticket here.
Magic Kingdom After Hours tickets can be purchased on Disney’s website and on the My Disney Experience App. After Hours is offered on select Monday evenings now through July 27, 2026. As of the time of this article, none of the evenings are sold out. Tickets range in price from $175 + tax, or $186.38, to $199.00 + tax, or $211.94 per person depending on the date.
The actual After Hours event runs from 10:00pm until 1:00am. During this time, only Guests with After Hours wristbands will be able to enter the queue for rides or snacks. Although the event doesn’t officially start until 10:00pm, your ticket allows you to enter the Magic Kingdom at 7:00pm. The gates opened at 6:55pm on the night of the first event.

Before the After Hours event, we created a Custom Touring Plan on the TP Lines app. We populated the plan with every open attraction in the Magic Kingdom although a few would not be open during the event hours. The goal was to optimize the plan and knock out the attractions closing at 10:00pm first. For example, Buzz Lightyear and Big Thunder are closed for renovations, so they weren’t on the plan. We also decided not to add certain shows and attractions because we knew they rarely have long waits. For example, we excluded Mickey’s PhilharMagic, the PeopleMover, Swiss Family Treehouse, Enchanted Tiki Room, and the Country Bear Jamboree. In the name of transparency, we also excluded the Tomorrowland Speedway because gas fumes aren’t fun.
That means we had 16 attractions and 2 fireworks shows on our plan. Astro Orbiter was not part of the After Hours event but it was on our plan. Below are the attractions we were able to complete from 7:00pm – 1:00am using our plan.

If you compare the attractions on the After Hours list with our graphic of completed attractions above, you’ll see that we did not have time for The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh. What we did have time for was a complete viewing of Happily Ever After fireworks at 9:00pm and Enchantment at 11:00pm. We say “complete viewing” because we treated both fireworks shows as a subscriber who was using our plan would. When we optimized the plan after Dumbo, the plan alerted us to find a spot for Happily Ever After. Were we just trying to capture a bit of video and a few pictures, we would have hustled to another ride and snapped a few minutes of the fireworks as we moved on to the next thing. Since this entire event was a testing night for us, we grabbed a spot 20 minute prior to each show and sat until the last bit of ash fell over Cosmic Rays – just like nearly all of our users would. Hence, no Pooh.
We rode 15 rides, waited in line 107 minutes total, for an average of 7 minutes and 13 seconds each. These numbers are a tiny bit inflated as several of our wait times, like the Space Mountain timer above, were less than 60 seconds. We rounded up to 1 minute for anything less than 60 seconds just to make the graph easier to consume. Negligible, but still a testing note.
Snacks!

Popcorn, frozen treats, and bottled Coke products are included with the After Hours ticket. There are snack carts scattered around the Magic Kingdom from 10:00pm – 1:00am handing out unlimited snacks. In past years, we have seen folks loading up backpacks and bags with bottled water and Diet Coke. No judgement since one bottle is $5.86 after tax!
We’re headed to Hollywood After Hours later this month so stay tuned for our Custom Touring Plan!
