45,197 Actual Wait Times Since May 2025
TouringPlans Subscribers (Liners) have submitted 45,197 actual wait times for Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resort since May of this year! This data has assisted us in forecasting more accurate wait time estimates, or Expected Wait times, in all 6 parks – the Magic Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, EPCOT, Animal Kingdom, Disneyland, and Disney’s California Adventure Park.
Below are just a few recent stats that show how our expected waits have been more accurate than Disney’s posted wait times as a result of this data collection and other work our stats team has been doing.
Our expected waits have been more accurate than Disney’s posted waits:
- 71% of the time OVERALL in the Magic Kingdom for the month of December alone
- 94% of the time for TRON during the first 30 minutes after regular park entry
- 76% of the time for TRON during the first 120 minutes of park opening
- 71% of the time for Peter Pan during the first 120 minutes of park opening
- 76% of the time for Frozen Ever After in EPCOT since May
- 78% of the time for Slinky Dog Dash in Hollywood Studios since May
- 79% of the time for Adventurer’s Outpost (Mickey & Minnie) in Animal Kingdom
- 82% of the time for Na’vi River Journey in Animal Kingdom
- 86% of the time for Big Thunder Mountain and Indiana Jones Adventure in Disneyland
The graphic below shows where you can find our Expected Wait forecasts for each attraction in the Lines apps for Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resort. You’ll also find Disney’s posted wait for that attraction and the next available Lightning Lane return time for the current day.

“Actual Wait Times” are also submitted through our Lines apps. The image below shows a step-by-step tutorial of the wait time submission process.

Once you’re in the Lines app, select the park you’re visiting and then the ride you’ll be timing. There are separate timers for Standby, Lightning Lane, and Single Rider Lines where applicable. The two most important things to remember when trying to capture an accurate wait time are:
- Start the timer when you have stopped walking in line for the first time. For example, if you’re getting in line for Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and you’ve entered the queue but you’re still walking, don’t start the timer! Once you catch up to the end of the queue and you stop walking, start your timer! This is when your wait actually begins.
- Stop your timer only when you’re ready to board your ride vehicle. This includes pre-shows like the ones you’ll find at Rise of the Resistance, Tower of Terror, and Guardians of the Galaxy. Your timer keeps running while you’re sitting through the pre-shows! Stop your timer as you’re about to board – as pictured in the image below for Seven Dwarfs Mine Train.

When you’re ready to board, select the blue “Submit Wait” button on the app. You’ll get a final prompt asking if you’re sure you want to submit your wait. Select “Yes, submit it” if you’re ready! You’ll be able to see how many wait times you’ve submitted on the Profile section of the Lines app. You can also see which badges you’ve earned with your wait time submissions. Some of our favorite badges include “Don’t Go Losing Your Head – 5 wait times for Haunted Mansion!”, and “I Love Potholes – 5 wait times for Kilimanjaro Safaris!”. Which badges have you earned?
Thank you to the many Liners who continue to time their waits in line! We are so grateful for your help in making the Lines apps better!
