Welcome to the latest edition of The Magic, The Memories, and Merch! the longest running monthly look at the Disney Outlet Stores in Orlando. Outlet Intern Julia Mascardo – when she wasn’t sailing on the newly refurbished Disney Fantasy –  and I found a whole bunch of neat things this month including a bunch of new Tsum Tsums, crazy hats, and the first piece of Moana merchandise to hit the Outlets.

Ready to see what we else found? Alright, let’s go!

More themed Mickey Ears came to the Outlets this month including this cute one featuring Dumbo. This was originally $21.95 but reduced all the way down to $1.99. For that price I picked one up. Side note, every single time I see or hear the word “Dumbo” I  immediately think of Jim Gaffigan’s bit on ‘Going To Disney.’

Whole bunch of new Tsum Tsums arrived as well, including this one featuring MR. TOAD. There are very few Tsums I would even consider buying at full retail price, but he was one of them. The few I have actually doled out the “big bucks” for are the Little Orange Bird, and some of the characters from Splash Mountain. The rest all come from the Outlets or when Target or Wal-Mart has a sale.

Mr. Toad was part of the “Fantasyland” set, and so was this Mexican Boy from it’s a small world.

Another member of the Fantasyland set is this guy who is apparently a “Tea Cup.” I guess sometimes you just have to go with it.

Here is Lady Tremaine from a Villains set.

A few more Star Wars Tsums made it this month including this Rey from Force Awakens.

And here’s Obi-Wan from A New Hope. You can see to the right of Obi-Wan there is a Luke Skywalker in his X-Wing outfit (better shot of it is above, to the left of the Mexican Boy from iasw.) It wasn’t until I got home and saw these photos that I even noticed that one was there AND IT MAKES ME WANT TO SCREAM.

Star Wars Galactic Nights was one of the hundred of upcharge events added within the last calendar year. Price at $129 for adults and $124 for children (whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat?!,) Galactic Nights took place during the same time Star Wars Celebration was in Orlando and was most notable for the debut of lightsaber churros. Here is the “limited edition” pin you could have bought that night for $14.99 reduced to $3.99.

Here is a Droid Factory set featuring a bunch of R2-D2-like droids. I imagine there are people who would actually know the names of these guys just by looking at them and that’s another documentary I’d like to see. Apparently these guys were all in Rogue One and I don’t remember a single one of them despite watching that movie several times. Originally $24.99, now $10.99.

Speaking of things I don’t remember from Rogue One, here is an awful Lego figure based on “Sergeant Jyn Erso.” WHAT?! Was this part of the half the film that got cut? Was she a Sergeant when she progressed up the ranks in Saw Gerrera’s squad? None of this makes sense. Not sure of original price but reduced to $18.99.

Might want to sit down for this one. This Millenium Falcon drone was behind the counter and cost $209.99. Although maybe I can buy this and expense it to Len Testa saying that I would provide drone footage of the Outlets. Imagine the footage we could get flying over a parking lot with no spaces and past all the pushy sales people trying to sell you luggage, perfume, and vape sticks. Let’s put a pin in that one.

This was great. This Galactic Nights poser was originally $24.99, reduced to $5.99, but if you look at the sign you’ll see it was for a “Memorial Day Sidewalk Sale.” This picture was taken late in June.

Death Star Mickey Ears hat. PASS. Originally $21.95.

A couple Disney Cruise Line Star Wars items popped up, including this magnet. Reduced to $4.99. I do have a request for all of you reading this. Here is a Tervis-like (maybe it is a Tervis, who knows) Tumbler for the DCL Star Wars Day At Sea. Originally $24.99, now $10.99.

Star Wars Day At Sea Coffee Cup. Originally $14.99, now $5.99.

Very cute “Mr. and Mrs.” wedding coffee cups. Originally $14.95 each, now $5.99.

This is a coffee cup featuring the good Mad Hatter instead of the Johnny Depp one. Originally $17.95, now $5.99.

Steamboat Willie coffee cup. A dedicated reader pointed out that the silicone tops on this cups help keep the coffee warm. That certainly makes sense. It might surprise some of you to know that I have never drank a cup of coffee or tea in my entire life. I’ve had enough Coke Zero to kill 14 Bison, but no coffee or tea. Originally $17.99, now $5.99.

As you can see, I clearly need a better way to take pictures of anything near a window in the Outlets. This cute plastic cup is Chip from Beauty and the Beast. Originally $9.99, now $2.99 and I bought one of these.

Not 100% sure why this coffee cup is taped to its saucer because there have been many Outlet items that are two piece where they haven’t done that. Originally this Mickey’s Coffee cup was $14.95, now $4.99.

Love seeing Rose and Crown Pub merchandise. This glass was originally $18.99, reduced to $5.99. Seeing Rose and Crown always makes me think of that incredible episode of Roseanne where they went to Walt Disney World. Not only did they do a pitch perfect recreation of what a “rope drop” at the Magic Kingdom used to feel like, they topped themselves by having Dan run back the other way after finding out there was no beer at MK. Dan found his beer at Rose and Crown in EPCOT.

Nice little Winnie the Pooh salt and pepper set. Reduced to $9.99.

This salt and pepper set featuring Rapunzel and her tower seems cool to look at, but probably very impractical on a dinner table. Also reduced to $9.99.

Xanax alert. Here is a pair of Expedition Everest MOUNTAIN RESCUE drum sticks. Imagine you’re trapped on Mt. Everest, clinging on for dear life in freezing temperatures and low on oxygen. With your last moments on Earth, you can faintly hear in the distance one of your would-be rescuers taking a moment to bust out a drum solo. That’s the way I want to go.

These drumsticks were originally $17.95, reduced to $12.99. As you can see I bought two sets because the kiddos would fight over them if I got just one set. You read that right. I spent $25 ON EXPEDITION EVEREST THEMED DRUMSTICKS. I think its safe to answer the question I poised last month with: Yes, I am the crazy one.

Alright, lets get to some more Mickey Ears, including this set featuring Sofia the First. Originally $21.99, now $4.99.

Frozen themed Mickey Ears. Originally $19.95, reduced to $3.99.

Look at this hot mess. Even Etsy might reject this one for being too “busy.” Pirate and Princess Ears. Originally $21.99, now $4.99.

Sometimes its hard to believe your own eyes at the Outlets. This foam Mickey hat was so outrageously big it would be like something you would see on a character in a slapstick comedy. Just next level bananas. Reminder, this is AN ADULT HAT. Originally $21.99, now $4.99.

Even better, THE SAME THING WAS AVAILABLE FOR WOMEN. This has to be a rib.

Last of the goofy foam hats is this one featuring Nightmare Before Christmas.

Speaking of Nightmare Before Christmas, here is a Sally ornament that was reduced to $4.99.  This may come as another surprise, but outside of absolutely loving the song “This is Halloween,” I’m not the biggest fan of Nightmare Before Christmas. Part of that might be that “Tim Burton” is now one of my trigger words. I probably should give the movie another chance this year.

Ultra-rare piece of UP merchandise with this ornament featuring Dug and Russell. Reduced to $4.99. One of the SATURDAY SIX articles I’ve had on the burners for over a year is the six best pins at WDW and one of those is that great “grape soda” pin that you can get. UP is definitely in my top five movies from Pixar including Ratatouille, the Incredibles, Cars (can you believe that?!) and Toy Story 2.

Here are more of those bonkers ornaments featuring the clothes of characters. Here is Sorcerer Mickey’s robe and hat along with regular Mickey’s pants. This week Time put out a quiz to find out which Harry Potter House you would be sorted into. I need to work on a quiz for people who collect ornaments like this to see which insane asylum you should be committed too. Bellevue, Arkham, the place they were going to take Belle’s dad to, or DHS.

Back in February the Disney Happy Hanukkah 2016 pins arrived at the Outlets, and this month the Hanukkah door hanger arrived. Originally $26.95, now $10.99.

Alright, let’s get to some clothes shall we. First up is this very colorful Bambi tank top. Originally $39.95, now $19.99.

Check it out, a Disneyland shirt over here in Disney World. Originally $29.95, now $7.99. For those interested, over the past few months I have been doing a weekly piece of Burgan Fine Art looking “Inside the Backpack” of people in the theme park community (including TouringPlans’ own Len Testa, Bob Iger, and even Walt Disney.) This weekend we’ll be looking Inside the Backpack of A Disneyland Annual Passholder. Stay tuned true believers!

Elena of Avalor dress. Originally $59.99, now $12.99. Unfortunately it wasn’t in my size so looks like I’ll have to miss out on another Dapper Day this year. Sorrow fellow Instagrammers.

I’m thinking this is for a pirate but I honestly have no idea. Reduced to $19.99.

Talk about the perfect sweater for people who buy those High Heel Christmas Ornaments. Originally $39.99, now $19.99.

Do women’s shirts often have the back go much longer than the front? Is that a thing? Originally $27.99, now $9.99.

Hard pass on this one. Originally $29.99, now $9.99.

Here’s a very elaborate chest to hold a set of Pirates of the Caribbean coasters. I don’t even know how they got the chest to close because I couldn’t. Originally $39.95, now $8.99.

Is this awesome or what?! An Indiana Jones bag! Well I had to get this. Originally $49.95, now $19.99.

Last month we saw a pack of Coca Cola cards, and this month some more Coke items arrived. I speculated last month that they might be from the huge Coke store in Disney Springs, but more likely they are coming from that Coke thing in EPCOT. This Volkswagon Beetle was originally $16.95, now $11.99.

This Volkswagon T1 Pickup was the same price as the car and today I learned apparently there is a venn diagram in which coca cola collectors and Volkswagon collectors crossover with each other.

This Lugi’s Flying Tires toy is an oldie but a goodie at the Outlets and note the sticker on the top right which says “Start Your Engines 2012.” Disney must have taken a complete BATH on these. Maybe it’s one of those Herbalife situations where  Merchandise managers just kept buying thousands of these toys, and stored them all in their house in order to move up in the pyramid scheme.

This Perry the Platypus Whoopie Cushion is one of the all time What Were They Thinking items. Where is this being sold? Who is the target demographic? I mean I get young kids, but what young kid who would like a whoopie cushion would even have $15 to spend on one?

OF COURSE I BOUGHT IT.

This next item is a super weird Animal Kingdom “stick” that has a T-Rex head and one foot. When you hit it with something the lights turn on. Originally $9.39, now $1.99. I bought a couple of these.

Disney Babies pin set. Originally $29.95, now $14.99. As someone who grew up on Muppet Babies, I wouldn’t mind seeing a Disney Babies cartoon or comic book come out.

JACKPOT. A Fort wilderness Air Freshener. I’m hoping to have a SATURDAY SIX on Fort Wilderness next month as it’s one of my favorite resorts because of all the activities, the merch, and of course the Hoop Dee Doo Review. These air fresheners were originally $6.95, reduced to $1.99. I bought one of these at full price earlier in the year, and you can see it on THIS VIDEO as I passed by DHS on my way to work one day.

“Dancing speakers.” where you can watch things bounce up and down when you listen to the latest E-Ticket Report podcast (where we talked Pandora: The World of Avatar, Star Wars Land, GOTG Mission: Breakout!, Volcano Bay and more.) Originally $34.95, now $14.99.

A leather-esque 28 and Main iPhone case. They should be giving these away to those who develop 28 and Main stuff as like bonuses. Selling them to actual people? I don’t get it. Reduced to $7.99.

Flower and Garden Shellie May, reduced to $12.99. Got this for the little princess.

Here comes some nightmare fuel with an Oswald the Lucky Rabbit outfit for Duffy. I think I was too scared to even check for a price. If you see on the bottom left you’ll notice the creepy Belle doll we wrote about last month, so at least Disney put this Duffy outfit in an appropriate spot.

This is a Beauty and the Beast set that includes a necklace, earrings, and bracelet. Originally $34.99, now $14.99.

Here is our first EVER piece of Moana merchandise at the Outlet. Loved that movie. This music box was originally $22.99, now $8.99.

A while back we saw the blue princess nail polish, and this month they also had pink.

Get this, they also had green nail polish from The Pirate’s League gimmick at the Magic Kingdom. For me this is one of the most underrated gems in all of WDW. It’s not that expensive, and kids can get done up like pirates or mermaids. There’s a whole little show aspect that is included, and the kids get a lot of attention in the park for the rest of the day that makes it well worth the $40. Unlike the Bibbidy Bobbidy Boutique there is also no age limit.

Been waiting a while for this one. A ceramic figurine of MONSTRO from Pinocchio.  You might ask what someone would need a large whale figure for, and I don’t have an answer for that, but I bought this one. Originally $22.99, now $6.99. Like you’re going to go to the Outlets and not not buy a Monstro item.

These ceramic leaf plates are certainly something. The larger ones were originally $30, reduced to $8.99 and the smaller ones were $28, reduced to $7.99. I think if these were colored I would have got some for the vegan in our household, but I don’t get the whole “all white” deal.

There are actually two Disney outlet stores in Orlando. Both are in Orlando Premium Outlet shopping complexes, and they are called Disney’s Character Warehouse, presumably because The Land Of Misfit Toys was already trademarked. There is one Character Warehouse located on International Drive close to Universal Studios (4951 International Dr, Orlando, FL 32819), and the other is on Vineland Avenue, right across I-4 near the exits to Disney World (8200 Vineland Ave, Orlando, FL 32821).
