PHOTOS: Art of Animation King Bed Little Mermaid Room
During a recent stay at Disney’s Art of Animation resort, I was given a room in the Little Mermaid section with a king-size bed, on the first floor of building nine. Most value resort standard rooms at Walt Disney World have two queen beds or a queen bed plus a pull-down convertible table bed. The king bed rooms are a relative rarity.
This room had some of the hallmarks of a handicap accessible room. For example, the “closet” hanging rod was positioned low on the wall rather than at adult standing height and the sink had no cabinetry that would impede wheelchair access. But it also included a standard tub rather than a roll-in shower, though there were ample grab bars in the tub.
Here’s a look at what to expect from this type of room. If you’d like to make a request for a specific type of room at Disney World, here are some tips on how to do so.
No doubt about it. This is *definitely* a handicap accessible room.
