Disney Cruise Line in a Jiffy: What is Senses?
Every Disney Cruise Line ship includes a space called Senses Spa & Salon, though it encompasses more than the name implies.
The exact allocation of space varies from ship to ship, but all Senses areas include a full gym, locker rooms, regular showers, deluxe showers and saunas (known as the Rainforest Room), private treatment rooms (for things like massages and waxing), public treatment areas (for things like hair styling and manicures), and product sales displays. Some ships have additional Senses features. For example, the Dream and Fantasy have a juice bar within Senses and the Wish (and her soon to be sister ships the Treasure and Destiny) have an outdoor lounge area as part of Senses.
The gym and regular showers are open to all adults on the ship at no charge. Hours vary and are posted on the DCL Navigator app. Virtually everything else at Senses involves an upcharge. Most beauty treatments can be booked in advance via the Disney Cruise Line website. The most popular times for Senses treatments is during the day on sea days. If you’re willing to reserve treatments late in the day or at times when the ship is in port, you’re likely to find more availability.
Disney Cruise Line in a Jiffy is an offshoot of our “Disney in a Minute” posts. Both are bite-sized nuggets of information that can better help you understand a Disney term or planning topic, but here we’ll be focused on all things Disney Cruise Line (DCL).
