In this post we’ll review HOTEL LiVEMAX Tokyo Shiomi Ekimae, which is a unbelievably cheap hotel located just 12 minutes from Tokyo Disney Resort, home to Tokyo Disneyland and the incredible Tokyo DisneySea. If you’re like me, you’re addicted to visiting Japan and Tokyo Disney Resort, and want to go as often and cheaply as possible. Or perhaps you’re on a tight budget and looking for every way to save money on an upcoming trip to Tokyo. HOTEL LiVEMAX Tokyo Shiomi Ekimae is one of the cheapest hotels near Tokyo Disneyland. During my most recent visit in November, 2025 I stayed 5 nights total and paid an average of $65 USD, and that includes a couple of higher priced nights due to a holiday weekend. That’s an unbeatable deal and I’ve seen other nights go for even less than that. How’s the hotel? Keep reading to find out.

Before we get started, we have some shameless plugs to go over. If you’re planning a trip to Tokyo Disneyland, we have a guide which covers every aspect of the trip planning process, including tips for how to get cheap airfare, tickets, and more. We also have our TouringPlans for Tokyo Disney website which goes over these topics more in-depth. Also, we want to remind everyone that Tokyo Disney Resort’s official website is extremely picky with US credit cards. Purchase your Tokyo Disney Resort tickets easily and securely with Klook. We’ve used them for years and they’re fantastic. Using our Klook link directly supports coverage of Tokyo Disney Resort on this website.

There’s a few things you must take into consideration when booking/staying at this hotel.

  • The maximum number of guests per a room appears to be 2. I’ve searched dozens of dates on the hotel’s website, but I can’t find anything with availability for three or more people.
  • The hotel is not located on Tokyo Disney Resort property but it’s a great location anyway. It’s just a 12 minute train ride with only three stops away from Tokyo Disney Resort. Even better, it’s also only a 10 minute train ride from the hotel to Tokyo Station. This gives you you a unbeatable perk where almost all of Tokyo can be accessed with a short train ride to Tokyo Station.
  • The standard single and double rooms in this hotel, which is what we are reviewing in this post, are small, at just over 100 square feet. Personally, I spend as little time in my room as possible when I’m in Japan so this did not bother me. Remember, this is about keeping things cheap.
  • The hotel is the definition of “no frills.” There’s no pool, restaurants, lounges, or anything like that.

Here’s a look at my room. I booked a Single Room, Non Smoking, City View. As you can see there’s just enough room to walk around the front and right side of the bed. The bed is reasonably comfortable. I’ve stayed in many Japanese hotels where the beds are almost as firm as the floor, but that is not the case here.

As a remote worker, I appreciate that this tiny room still has a desk with a chair and enough room to get some work done.

Each room also has a TV, microwave, hot water kettle, air purifier, and air conditioning.

A mini fridge is also included. I don’t know if my fridge was broken, but this fridge gets extremely cold. My bottles of water completely frozen after a day.

The room has a hallway that goes from the room’s door, past the bathroom, and into the area with the bed and desk. My photo of the closet got corrupted so I can’t show it here until my next trip in April, 2026. The closet itself has plenty of room for bags and clothes to hang. There’s also a luggage rack inside. My three carry-on sized bags fit in the closet with no problems.

The bathroom is tiny. I’m 5’10, and while sitting on the toilet I had about 5 inches of room between my knees and closed the bathroom door. However, it has everything you need for your stay, including a wonderful bidet toilet.

Body soap, shampoo, condition, and face/hand soap is included.

An amenity kit with toothbrush, toothpaste, comb, and razors are also included.

The bathroom and the room itself were clean and free from any major wear and tear, but everything does have a bit of a worn down look. That’s a minor complaint considering the price.

A great thing about the hotel is that it’s across the street from Shiomi Station, which is the train station you’ll use to get to Tokyo Disney Resort or Tokyo Station. In fact, you can see the hotel while standing on the train platform. HOTEL LiVEMAX Tokyo Shiomi Ekimae is located in a quiet area off of a non-busy street, so it took me under 3 minutes to walk from the train station. It’s so nice not having to walk far after a long day of exploring Tokyo. It’s also a quick walk from some great cheap dining options, such as a Sushimaru sushi restaurant, and one of my favorites, Sukiya, which serves cheap and delicious gyudon bowls.

Overall this is a great hotel for solo travelers or couples who have no problem with the bare minimum amount of space and amenities. When I’m in Japan traveling with my family, a bigger room at a Hilton or something in that category is preferred. But during my solo trips this is all I need. You can’t beat that price and location. The location of HOTEL LiVEMAX Tokyo Shiomi Ekimae is also perfect for exploring the city, which is what I do during the majority of my trips to Tokyo. While it is nice to stay on-site at Tokyo Disney Resort in Hilton Tokyo Bay or Sheraton Grande Tokyo Bay Hotel, staying here for a third of the price is much more appealing if I’m on a tight budget.

Would you stay at HOTEL LiVEMAX Tokyo Shiomi Ekimae? Do you have any other cheap hotels you’ve found near Tokyo Disneyland? Let me know in the comments.
