Crowd Calendar Updates Coming Soon – Some Invalid Wait Time Predictions Being Fixed

So far in September and October 2015 we have seen wait times unlike any other year during the same period at Walt Disney World. What we have seen is so different that it requires us to revisit our wait time models at each attraction and possibly to post changes to the Crowd Calendar.

During these updates some invalid wait times have made their way into our database of predictions. We are aware of the issue and currently working to fix it. Once we have done so we will indicate it here and through our other social media channels and ask you to re-optimize your touring plans. We greatly apologize for the inconvenience and thank you in advance for your patience.

  • I will add that the wait times on the app were SPOT ON during our Animal Kingdom days; down to the minute. Specifically remember telling my son it was going to be 33 minutes at Dinosaur. As we were boarding the lady behind us asked how I knew that – she was AMAZED! Maybe they are sending more people through FPP than previously. That would just KILL the wait times model.

  • When you say “invalid wait times”, do you mean longer or shorter? I’m having some RnR wait times coming in at 16 minutes that are suspect and I’m wondering if that’s the type of problem you’re referring to. Thanks! 🙂

  • We were at WDW Oct. 3 through the 16th. It was crazy busy lines at all the parks, most especially Magic Kingdom when there wasn’t a Mickey Halloween Party. DHS was very crowded in the front of the park both Sunday’s we were there, but it was empty in the back (Streets area, Muppets section, area past Toy Story, and the large area in front of LMA. AK was shoulder to shoulder in the afternoon on 10/10. Epcot was real crowded in the World Showcase but almost empty in Future World walkways except for the attractions. But mornings weren’t crowded during the 7 days we hit the parks at opening. We got to the parks early and were usually able to get a ton of rides in before 11:00 AM. And, as another poster said, there was an abnormal number of ride breakdowns, most notably POC that broke down on 5 of our 6 rides.

  • We were at MK Oct. 14th… TP saved our butts! We would have been miserable without it! Short lines on a crowded day =) Thank you Touring Plans!

  • We were there from Oct. 11-16th, visited all 4 parks and Magic twice. We usually go in November, I can not believe how crowded it was, most rides had extremely long wait times, even rides like “it’s a small world”, we had plans and good fast passes scheduled plus waited for close to closing to ride headliners. Having a plan definitely saved us a lot of aggravation, my husband kept thanking me for knowing what to do when it was crazy, and when Oct. 11th at magic turned into a 10 day, hitting Hall of Presidents at 2:00 was a nice break plus got prime parade seats after. But I will say that all week a lot of the rides were glitchy, we were stuck on several and several broke down, made lines on other rides worse. Even though the crowd calendars were a little off, this site helped me know where to go and what to do when it was hectic. Your advice to do the fantasmic dining package was such a blessing when we walked right in 30 minutes before show time and got wonderful seats, when it was being announced there was a standing room crowd.

  • I was in Disney World Oct 9 to 15th, went to all 4 parks and it was crazy busy in all of them, went to Magic Kingdom on a Wednesday, most major rides have close to 2 hour wait times!! They extended hours in all the parks every day.

  • I was at Disneyland last week and I’d say those predictions need to be looked at as well. It was INSANE there last week. Our kids’ school has a fall break in October and it has been our go to vacation time to Disneyland for years now and while we have noticed the continued uptick in attendance over the years this year was just nuts. Just my two cents.
