After embarking on sea trials in early September, the Disney Adventure’s maiden voyage has now been postponed from December 15, 2025 to March 10, 2026. If you were booked on one of the affected sailings (all cruises departing on or before March 12, 2026), you should receive notice from Disney Cruise Line or your travel agent.

Guests sailing on the maiden voyage have been offered an opportunity to sail on the new maiden voyage at a 50% reduced fare. Those unable to make those dates will receive a full refund and a 50% discount on a future cruise. Guests on other affected cruises will receive a full refund and a 50% discount on a future cruise. For both groups, the 50% future cruise fare discount is valid for a cruise booked by March 31, 2026, for a cruise departing on or before March 31, 2027.

The Disney Adventure began her life with another cruise line, and came to DCL in late 2022 when its original owner filed for bankruptcy. Meyer Werft took over the construction at the Wismar shipyard in Germany, and Disney has released regular updates on the progress of her build.

The Adventure is the largest of the Disney Cruise ships, with about 60% more passenger capacity than the Wish-class ships. Due to her large size and the depth of the Wismar harbor, she could not be fully finished in the harbor. On September 1, 2025, she left Wismar for sea trials, arriving in Bremerhaven on September 5. Sea trials are aimed at running the various mechanical and technical systems, such as navigation and propulsion, through their paces to test the seaworthiness of the newly launched vessel.

After arrival at Bremerhaven, the Adventure was scheduled for completion of the unfinished work, which includes portions of her funnels and the interior. Disney hasn’t confirmed whether the three-month delay in her maiden voyage was prompted by issues discovered during the sea trials, or simply an updated schedule for the finishing work.
