Disney Brewing Something for October 1, 2011
While no reliable news has leaked out of the House of Mouse regarding the 40th anniversary of the Walt Disney World Resort (we don’t even know whether there will be a formal event), the official Disney Parks Twitter accounts threw this cryptic comment into the Twitterverse:
@DisneyParks We can’t reveal all the details, but guests at Magic Kingdom can expect special surprises on Oct.1.
Recently released press and promotional materials from Disney have been drawing attention to the previous park anniversaries. It seems Disney intends to do something for the occasion, but exactly what remains unknown to those outside the company. If we learn anything else, we’ll let you know. In the meantime, these anniversaries usually at least mean free cupcakes.

I chatted w/ a castmember about a hotel room, then asked if anything was going on for the 40th Anniversary, and said they hadn’t heard anything yet, but they will be there, too and left with a :).
Not to mention including the Park blog, but the Passholder pamphlet that comes out quarterly has listed the 10, 15, 20 year celebrations. So…they are stirring up a lot! And I sure hope that 🙂 means something wonderful, b/c I plan to be there! 🙂

I knew it was a good idea to skip the 5K at Animal Kingdom that morning… and to book BLT for the previous night. 😉
