Disney KiteTails Will Soar Beginning October 1 at Disney’s Animal Kingdom

A few months back, Disney shared that there would be a brand new daytime show that will take place at the Discovery River Theater at Disney’s Animal Kingdom called Disney KiteTails. (Whoo-ooo. Come on…you know you were thinking it.) This show will kick off on October 1 as par of the Walt Disney World Resort’s 50th anniversary.

Disney KiteTails will happen several times a day and will feature a team of performers with oversized props and kites that feature some of your favorite Disney animal friends from your favorite films, like The Little Mermaid, a bug’s life, and Finding Nemo.

The show will also include watercraft that will pull dynamic kite trains and enormous, three-dimensional kites depicting familiar characters from The Lion King and The Jungle Book. These remarkable kites, some as large as 30 feet in length, are inflated by moving through the air, allowing characters to soar.

There will be original, worldbeat arrangements of favorite Disney tunes as the kites sail over the lagoon.

Disney shared a preview video of this new show here:

According to Disney, the performances could be different, as one time you may see Baloo in the sky and then the next time, you may see Zazu chasing after Simba. So, you never know which show you’re going to get.

There is currently no word on how long each show will be, nor has Disney shared details on how many times this show will take place. Stay tuned to the blog for further details.
