Disney Cruise Line in a Jiffy: What is Back-to-Back Cruising?

Frequent Disney cruisers will sometimes talk about taking Back-to-Back cruises. Back-to-Back sailing is when you embark on two consecutive Disney Cruise Line voyages on the same ship. This term applies to consecutive sailings on the same ship on other cruise lines as well.

For example, the Disney Wish sails primarily alternating three and four day voyages. If you love the Wish and, well, wish you could spend a full week on board, you could book back-to-back itineraries and cobble together your own week-long Disney Wish adventure. You’ll have to disembark the ship briefly between the sailings, but you’ll be among the first allowed onto the ship when the second sailing is open for boarding. If you plan things right and book the same stateroom for both cruises, you won’t even have to pack and unpack.

Cant’s get enough of Castaway Cay? Book back-to-back sailings.

There are a handful of DCL sailing combinations each year that are not available for back-to-back sailings due to the Merchant Marine Act of 1920, but these are rare. Call DCL at 1 (800) 951-3532 if you have any concerns about whether your desired combination of sailings is problematic.
