Epic Universe might only be 5 months old, but Universal has released new details on its Universal Kids Resort coming to Frisco, Texas in 2026! Find out which characters, properties, and rides this new park features.

What is Universal Kids Resort?

Universal Kids Resort is a small theme park and hotel that is focused on families with small children, roughly 1-9 years old. Unlike the other Universal parks, UKR focuses on play and child-friendly attractions in a relaxed atmosphere.

Where is it located?

Universal Kids Resort is located in Frisco, Texas, a northern suburb of Dallas.

Is There A Hotel?

Yes! There is a hotel at the front of the park that acts as the official entrance. More information on the hotel will be released at a later date.

When Does Universal Kids Resort Open?

Universal has not given a specific date yet, but they say the park will open in 2026.

How Much Is Admission?

Universal has not stated how costly admission will be, but we have some guesses based on similar attractions. Admission to the LEGO Discovery Center family entertainment center (FEC) in Dallas costs $21.99, the nearest competitor to the park. A regular LEGOLAND Florida ticket runs around $139.99 per person with the second day free, while Sesame Place in PA has a sale where you can pick your day to start at $41, while a two-day ticket starts at $52, on sale from $108 and $118, respectively. Based on similar ticket offers, we think ticket prices will be between $60 and $90.

What Does the Park Offer?

The park consists of seven themed lands featuring rides, shows, character meet and greets, play areas, and dining. Universal has lifted the curtain on some of the attractions and characters found in the park…

Isle of Curiosity rendering

The first land guests experience when entering the land is the Isle of Curiosity, a land designed around play spaces and meet and greets. Find Gabby from Gabby’s Dollhouse in said dwelling or shop at the Universal Kids Store.

DreamWorks’ TrollsFest rendering

Don’t stop the beat at TrollsFest, a non-stop party hosted by the Trolls. Guests can ride the Caterbus on a new rollercoaster or soar in the air on a Trolls balloon ride. Poppy and her fellow Trolls meet guests at a party-themed meet and greet, and kids can let out steam on one of the three playgrounds in the land.

Meet Shrek, Fiona, Donkey, and more in Shrek’s Swamp. Play in the Swamp Splash and Smash, meet your favorite characters, or relive the Shrek & Fiona story on the Happily Ogre After car ride. It is yet to be said if the Shrekzel is making its way from Orlando.

DreamWorks’ Puss in Boots Del Mar rendering

It’s a festival every day at Puss in Boots Del Mar, a land inspired by Spanish carnival based on the Shrek spin-off Puss in Boots. Ride on the Swings Over Del Mar or visit Mama Luna’s Puppet Show for relaxing entertainment. Don’t forget to meet Puss in Boots in his land, let loose in the play space, or compete in a game of skill at the carnival games.

Illumination’s Minions vs. Minions

Universal heard you love Minions, so now comes Minions vs Minions, a land where the Purple and Yellow Minions compete. Ride on a water raft ride that takes you through the land, play in the water splash pads of Bello Bay Club, or try your hand at controlling the Purple Minions in one of the interactive play areas.

Jurassic World Adventure Camp

Good news: the dinos don’t escape in this theme park. Phew. Climb, crawl, and explore throughout Jurassic World Adventure Camp, where your favorite dinosaur series comes to life. Based on the Netflix show Camp Cretaceous, this land has kids come face to face with baby dinosaurs, skimming along the canopies on Jurassic World: Cretaceous Coaster, and spinning on Mr. DNA’s Double Helix Spin.

Nickelodeon’s SpongeBob SquarePants Bikini Bottom rendering.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH. WHO LIVES IN A PINEAPPLE UNDER THE SEA?

SpongeBob is finally receiving his own land at Universal Kids Resort with SpongeBob SquarePants Bikini Bottom. Ever want to head to Muscle Beach or hang out in Jellyfish Fields? Now is your time. Plus you get to give an overworked boating instructor an anxiety attack at Ms Puff’s Boating School ride. Krusty Burger not included with admission.
