Magic Kingdom Paving Stone Demolition is Well Underway
Earlier this summer, Disney announced that it would be removing the Walk Around the World paving stones. As you can see in the last few photos, there are now piles of broken stones ready to be carted away.
Demolition started at the Transportation and Ticket Center several weeks ago, and the removal is also now well underway at the Magic Kingdom entrance.
The good news is that you’ll eventually be able to walk from the Magic Kingdom to the Grand Floridian. The bad news is that you won’t be able to do so on your personal paving stone.

Oh dear – first I have heard about the destruction of the “purchased” paving slabs.
During a family visit some / many years ( 25+) ago, staying in the Polynesian Village Resort , I purchased a paving slab with an appropriate comment re our surname and home location = Somerset UK.
My daughter is planning a family visit later this next year and was excited to walk the path and seek out OUR paving slab. I have a reference to its location (!) .
However it is not to be …I now consider Disney World to have ” ripped me off ” !!
A very dissatisfied Disney World customer.
every single last person who paid to have their name on those papers better be reimbursed!!!!!
Any idea when that construction is supposed to be complete (not counting the walkway to the GF)?
Sorry, no real information on that. My guess is that the MK front entrance will be improved by Thanksgiving, but that’s just conjecture.
