Make Your Own Candle at the Grand Floridian

Last month we covered a make-your-own candle experience at Disney Springs, and now we’ve found another candle-making place, this time at Disney World’s Grand Floridian resort.

The Grand Floridian make-your-own candle station is inside the Basin White shop on the second floor of the main building. That’s the same level you’re on when you enter/exit the monorail.

The make-your-own candles are $14.99 each, or 2 for $24.99. They burn for about 15 hours.

A cast member at the store will help you affix a wick in your jar, and then you layer as many colors and aromas of tinted paraffin wax that you like. Making a candle takes about five minutes.

Children are welcome to make candles, with supervision, but it’s more intended for an adult who wants to bring a lovely scent into the home, rather than a purely entertaining diversion. If you’re making a day of resort hopping, then this could be a nice souvenir of your adventures.
