Looking for a way to send a special and inexpensive souvenir from Main Street U.S.A. on your next Disney World vacation? Consider sending a postcard with a picture of your favorite pals or Park icons right from the center of the fun. You can find everything you need, including the mailbox, right in the Magic Kingdom.

Where to Get Your Postcards

We were only able to find one option for postcards in the park on our recent visit. A pack of 10 assorted cards was $19.99 plus tax and before discounts. We paid $17.03 for the pack after our Annual Passholder discount. The picture below shows the side of the display; it’s in the first room of the Emporium as you enter the Park.

Postcards can be found in the Emporium on Main Street. 10 assorted cards for $19.99 plus tax.

If you want to save a bit (okay, a lot!), you can bring postcards with you. The shops along I-4 and Highway 192 have beautiful cards for far less.

Where to Get Your Postcard Stamped

U.S. postcard stamps and the “Main Street U.S.A..” stamp can be found at the Stroller Rental Desk under the Main Street Train Station.

The Stroller Rental Desk sells postcard stamps for the current Postal Service rates. Cast Members will stamp your card (for free!) with the stamp you see below. You can also ask for this Main Street stamp at City Hall, but they do not sell postage.

Plus It Up!

If you’re looking for a special touch, consider taking your postcards to your favorite characters to get them signed. Assisting Cast Members will help Mickey or other characters with securing the card for their signature. Don’t worry if you don’t have a pen or marker, as Cast Members always have at least one. A few CMs, like the folks we’ve seen around the Castle with Anastasia and Drizella, have a full array of Sharpies in every hue.

If you want a character to pose with your card, the attending Cast Member will need to be sure it is allowed. There are lots of very firm rules about items characters may pose with, including anything branded. For example, Mickey would not be allowed to pose with a TouringPlans hat in his hands – no matter how much he loves Len.

Mailing Postcards from Disney World

If you’re ready to send your card while you’re still in the Magic Kingdom, you’ll find a turn-of-the-century mailbox in front of City Hall. The mailbox is a real mail collection box that is on loan from the U.S. Postal Service.

Mail is collected daily and is entered into the Orlando mail system to be delivered as normal. We’ve had Subscribers tell us they send themselves postcards while they’re still on vacation to have a bit of magic waiting when they get home.

Have you ever sent a postcard from the Magic Kingdom? Do you have other inexpensive souvenir ideas? Let us know in the comments so we can check it out.
