Primeval Whirl Still Closed – Reopening Unknown
According to Disney’s website and all guest communications, the Primeval Whirl attraction was supposed to reopen today from a long and much-delayed refurbishment. It did not. No time frame for an actual reopening has been given. We don’t even know if Disney has actually been given clearance to work on or reopen the ride since a maintenance worker was killed while working on the refurbishment at the start of the lengthy closure.
We’ll keep you updated on if/when Disney acknowledges the attraction isn’t open or gives us something resembling a time frame for reopening. Until then, don’t expect to ride it any time soon.
It was announced that OSHA fined WDW $69,000 for safety issues. This may have been what they were waiting on – closure with OSHA.

It was closed when we by it today, although they were running empty vehicles.
The best thing would be to close the attraction altogether!
Amen, Doug!
Today I saw that they were testing a ride vehicle so I hope that is good news. The CM outside the ride said “check back tomorrow” so perhaps it is day-to-day. I wouldn’t count on tomorrow though!
